Think Tank Bags

Really? I had read many posts in which people are actually wishing that the Change Up can be taller to accommodate other bigger camera + lens setups.

change up is meant for the usual DSLR minus grip, rite? if you want it as half the height.. u are talking abt PnS or prosumers.

I use rangefinder cameras so don't need so much space. Normally just 1 body with lens attached and 1 to 2 other lenses. Nowadays with digital, the space that i used to use for film is also freed up. The less to carry the better. Haha.

the speed changer or chimp cage is perfect for carrying 1 or 2 rangefinders with lenses attached. ;p

Of course you have to be crazy to carry a hardcase on your back.

I made that comment because from some of the posts here it seems Thinktank is the last word on protection.

As for the glass taxi, yes it does seem short of space, one supertelephoto plus an SLR (and you can't fit an SLR for anything bigger than a 300 2.8) and that's about it. Then again you don't go swinging around with a supertelephoto unless you mean to use it; that is why i don't think adding pouches on the glass taxi is necessary. plus the you can't open the bag fully with pouches hanging from the front rail.
Most of the people here are pretty sane and know what is the limits of a bag, having met most of them.

1 in the front is good enough, I am talking about the side. for possible expansion. Would be nice to have, considering if I have to carry a 300 and a WA to cover some of the events I want to do. The space on the side is just so "wasted" without the extra rails.

After exchanging the Change Up for a new piece, I found out the horrible truth that THE TRIM CHANGER CANNOT BE FITTED! Therefore, I will probably not be getting the Chimp Cage and the Trim Changer may likely be put up for sale or I will consider getting a Pro Speed Belt / Steriod Speed Belt...

May I ask those who have either/both of the belts to give their opinions? Especially any advantages the belt has over the belt packs?

the basic belt will do, emailed about the steriod belt before and i was advised against it before if my memory not so kocked up unless i'm carrying a damned lot. besides, the steriod belt does not allow the free rotation of the attached bags all around the waistline (regardless of ur tummy size) :) once u get the regular belt harness, lagi cannot rotate things around, which defeats the purpose of getting tinktank in the first place...

I saw you on the first day, we were discussing about the 360 Rotation together ;) You should have bought what you want during the lunch time, there still have everything then. I bought the UD 60, its a tight fit for me to close the zip with my 30D with grip... I find the detachable padding a little flimsy, maybe its made that way so that the UD 60 will not look too bulky and squarish, giving it a more natural look.
yes, the 5d and 400d with grips attached.

i kinda like the idea of carrying the change up purely for the lenses i would like to change through during the event. don't really like the idea of wearing the modulus belt cuz it still kinda reminds me of army days haha..!

i'd usually go there and then take out my gear or prepare it before i step into the event.

so its like bodies + wide lens + long lens + one flash inside the UD and the main lens and one flash inside the CU. at the time of shooting, transfer wide lens or long lens to the CU and carry both cams. lock the UD and keep it somewhere safe heh.

Do you think it might work out ok?

hmmm wasn't there a photo on the website showing the trim changer on the CU?

No there isn't... And I had tried a couple of times before giving up... :(

isn't the first photo of it?

"It also allows far more gear to be carried in the Change Up comfortably. In this photo, for example, the Trim Changer™ was attached to the side of the Change Up’s waist belt."

Otherwise suing for misrepresentation might help ;)

How I had forgotten about this part? That was the reason I decided on getting the Trim Changer ;p However, like I've said, I couldn't fix it myself. The flap which is supposed to go through the slot on the belt cannot fit...

well one goes for ability to customize according to your needs and the other has a fixed basic capacity. currently testing the pro speed belt with the chimp cage and lightning fast for use on a everyday basis. Not bad at all, no problem getting on to buses during the morning rush hour and the weight doesnt bother you at all. Currently carrying D2H with 45P, PSP and 1 HDD around.

you must realize that was a pre production test model that they are using. Bring it to TK or email TTP about it.

Hmm. It says that Helen Atkinson (the photojournalist in the picture) was trying out a prototype, not the CU that we all know. Possibly it had a larger modulus belt area for attaching larger pouches, but the final product that was released had a downsized belt?

Early morning and I am in here talking about bags. This is not good.

May I ask how much is the pro speed belt? I think may sell the Trim Changer to get either the Speed Changer or Chimp Cage for added capacity for miscellaneous items. Change Up is great but now I am trying it out as a lens pouch rather than a carry-it-all. The body will go into another pouch.

45P! Tasty! ;p

49 for the belt. Best you try if the other pouches can fit your change up or not. otherwise I will be seeing more TTP items in BnS.

True. I was thinking if the Change Up has gone through some revision to downsize the belt, thus reducing the slot size as well. Perhaps I will email Doug about it. If it is confirmed the case, the Trim Changer will go to another bro, not FOC of course.

Haha, thanks bro. I think all lens pouches will fit but the wider pouches will be the ones to be careful of. If Trim Changer can't fit, I seriously doubt that the Speed Changer and Chimp Cage will fit at all.

I have carried the system to work and the All The Other Stuffs can't really carry all the other stuffs...

for the larger pouches, I would recommend trying to use calabrinas(is this spelled correctly?) to secure it to the belt. might not be the best but it might work
