Thanks whoswho. I took this while waiting for fireworks last Sat. It was not very peaceful on the bridge at that time! :bsmilie:whoswho said:Hi Cerebus,
Love your moon shot! It's beautiful and peaceful. Great work!
Sorry, did not know that. Which forum is it under?+evenstar said:there's already a thread for moon shots IIRC..
anyway yr moon is a tad bit overexposed IMO

My cam is up to f8 only.
I lost the EXIF when I was post processing. It was shot in manual mode. Its 1/100, f4.0. Focus at infinity. Lowest ISO, since my P&S sensor is really noisy. My in camera setting is low sharpening, did a bit of blur/sharpen via something similar to USM. I also corrected white balance as it was on auto when I shot it. The moon had a blue tinge to it. Cropped the photo slightly.ah.zeep said:Yeah, I'd like to know the settings. Unfortunately cerebrus's moon image has no exif data to peek atIt does look sharp, though.
On another note, is there any post-processing that needs to be done on the captured moon photo?

Still trying to master using curves. Have not got the hang of it yet. Thanks for the advise!fWord said:If you tweak the photo using curves in Photoshop, it might yield something with a higher contrast.
There's been a great deal of potential moon shots recently, but I regret not having the camera with me at that time.
What camera are you using? A dSLR sensor should be able to produce pictures that are sharper then mine. It helps if you have a long zoom lens, I am using a Tele converter to give me 660mm.ah.zeep said:Hi, thanks for your replies. I've been trying moon shots too, but my results are not sharp at allWill need to fiddle around somemore with my lenses.
BTW, for those interested, Moonrise and Moonset Times, for Singapore
My guess is that at moonrise time, i.e. nearer the horizon, it should be larger and therefore we don't need so powerful a zoom...

Thanks for the table. Unfortunatly, I am surrounded by buildings there is no horizon in sight where I live. :bsmilie:
