I'm wondering what's the co-relation to the models being under contract and the right to demand removal of shots posted online and/or a right to have a copy of the photos on CD.

JT give me the reason as

"They'll view each pic and check it with webs like gay webs, sggirls to see if the model's pics were misused with the shooters."

So that means I can SAFELY just reject their request ??

Is it just me, or did anyone else get the PM too ??

The PM that I got :

"Sorry to cause disturbance in your thread, but the events manager would like to have a copy of your shots of the event. He requests that you burn it into a CD for him, with each image at A4 size. Though I'm in no position to order you to remove pics from your thread, I only recieved notification from the company that since a couple of their male models are under contract, they hereby have the rights to protect these models reputation and pictures.
Do let me know once you've burnt a copy of the shots. Thanks

Apologies,
"

well, since the pm is only notifying you, i dun see the need for u to really be bothered by it...

honestly.. if the agency wants to protect their male models pics.. then they shouldn even let them attend a public event, and since your pics are doing them justice by helping them become more known to the public... dun seem to be affecting their reputation in anyway too.. :)

hope this thread is not gonna degrade into some flamming threads... we just wanna let the agency know thats it not "right" to ask for such things. :)

If they demand for photos, charge them for it loh. There is no free meal in this world. :bsmilie:

Then perhaps it is more appropriate that their action be directed towards the gay webs and sggirls sites correct?

:bsmilie: that's a good one.

sigh, dun bother, its a poor excuse to get your pics. JT can stop being a messenger girl now. just tell them to read the thread themselves.

You didn't violate any regulations nor did you through underhanded means took those images, neither did you outrage the modesty of the subjects you posted, they can't do anything.

The copyright of the images belongs to you.

yah lor, then they should ask those website to remove the picture....

Furthermore I'm sure they will recognise their own models, and do not need my picture to check against those website.....

to prevent further exploit of photos in forums like sggirls, tkp threads and gay sites. This thread will be refered to the managers themselves

hey girl, glad u understand. ;)

this is solely aiming at them only.

most photog post pics here with watermarks, though it may not be such a big help, it still works as deterring factor... if the agency are worried that the pics turning up in "certain" websites, they should be more worried about pp who are shooting with p&s.. who's gonna stop them?

and requesting to not post the pics on9 is one thing (maybe a bit reasonable)
but asking for a copy of the CD in A4 size is another (now thats a bit not reasonable of them le)

Fair enough to remove, but submit the images? The managers need to try harder.

I also dun see a point. If those companies who has contracts wif the models mind people taking the model's pictures & seeing people post online, mind as well stop their models from taking part.
Competition held in public area...even aunties will use hp or watsoever to take photos of the contestants!

Just wondering, is it the events company (ie L-pine) or is it the choreographer (who rumouredly represents some of the male contestants) who made the request? Should be made clear or else the wrong party may be implicated as having made the request.

What control? Was there even anything out of control? They just want to exploit the situation for their own good :)
Control the pictures was distributed(posted/leech or watever)
of cos wat u said is correct.

I suppose they are just trying their luck to see if any photographers will be cowed into submission :p
