Wa... din expect them to struggle against the dutch lei... anyway a hard fought victory!
Think the mens team gone case liao ...left with the singles n doubles!

Table tennis and badminton .... somehow these games are so suited for the Chinese physical build and agility..... all the players from the ang mo countries all have Chinese immigrants playing for them.:dunno:

Our sport council should actually concentrate harder on these games, and better still import more of the talented chinese players then probably one day not too far away, we may even get 2 or 3 Gold medals:think:

Other sports we should concentrate harder: Archery, Pistol, Sailing

I say forget about athletic, swimming, etc .... we just do not have the critical mass.

Yeah, our table tennis girls have made it to the semi finals after beating Netherlands 3-0. Just 1 more win and Singapore will be assured of a medal. Come on Team Singapore!

There is one big hurdle ..... unfortunately we are fighting with Koreans who are known to be tough fighters as well as our track record with them is not so favourable to us ... it would be more of a sure thing if we were grouped with Hong Kong (60-40 chance) in this semifinal.

Anyhow, we are World's No. 2 Team, so we should be more optimistic! Jiayou :heart::heart:
I rate it as 50-50 chance here.

Let's hope Singapore can clear this last hurdle.

fwah, it's amusing to note the china imports even from other countries, other than singapore, playing the table tennis matches.

To me, no matter how they want to justify it, it's China vs China!

It's smart for these China imports to move out of China to take on citizenship in other countries. Otherwise, they won't have chance to even smell the Olympic and other big matches.

I do wish Li Jiawei and co well, but even if they win, it ain't interesting cos it's an "Asian sport" just like badminton. To put it crudely, a small portion of ang mohs play these as recreational games, not sports, back home. The feeling is somewhat like if they introduced sepak takraw in the Olympics and Singapore wins a medal.

It's a prouder feeling if Tao Li wins next time in swimming.

Also congrats for snatching the 1st and 2nd position from the Chinese! This taught the Chinese a good lesson for being biased against their athletes and hence awarded the Chinese team Gold during the Women's Team Final prior :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
