long time I have not bring out my beer-can will check mine of the AF noise I think mine some sound when AF jerks to re-adjust AF e.g. when subject moves while half press shutter button... but with out build in motor it's noisy AF =)

My beercan came in with quite a bad exterior, scratches everywhere and dirty. So I decided to "refurbish" it myself.
Its just normal 3M carbon fiber vinyl.
Measure and cut everything myself, including punching a small hole to fit the orange dot and slicing a small line to show the white indicator line.
I removed the rubber zoom ring and clean it with toothbrush n toothpaste.


Right now I'm still thinking should I cover the focal lengths markings, cos there's a deep scratch at 70mm mark...

looks nice maybe I should do this to my old minolta lenses even though they still good cond just to protect and make it look cool/good some more hehehe... I was hunting at DIY h/w shop didn't saw any 3M carbon fiber vinyl tape can share what where you bought your tape?

I bought my 3M vinyl from eBay. It's a Singapore seller from bukit batok. If u wan I can try to search for his contact for u.

Here is a recent picture I took using the beer can. I found that my beercan gives a slightly cool colour, compared to my Tamron. Is this common? Or just my WB is off? Thanks

Hi Atarandas.

For this particular shot the WB is correct. In some shooting situation I encountered the slightly coolish colour (I normally set WB in auto). It could be because of the sun glare. I ended up editing my raw files.
