Is it 25mm f1.4? If so, you can expect another LOMO-ish lens (ie. not full sensor coverage, dark corners, soft edges.) But its centre sharpness is very good, with rich colour too. Quite useable at close range.
Also, if it is the AR (not RX) version, then you will have problem mounting it fully on E-P2, ok on G-1/GH-1 though.
yeah... 25mm f1.4. in fact, 2 lenses... one is kern switar AR and the other is the cosmicar 25mm f1.4. i saw from the google list that cosmicar has not vignetting though... so i am pretty safe on that one.
i intend to mount them on my EPL1.
I'm a newbie in m43; just got my ep2 yesterday Just to check, for cine lens, what do the "1 inch", "2 inch" etc denote? Is this linked to the focal length? Thanks in advance.
1 inch = 25mm; 2 inch = 50mm. Yes, they refer to the focal length of cine lens. Due to the 2X factor of m43, a 1 inch c-lens will be equivalent to a 50mm length in FF. Note that most c-lens cannot quite cover the m43 CCD sensor fully, resulting in dark or black corners. Suggest you check sample pix from flickr first before you buy those c-lenses.
It may not necessarily mean the focal length of the lens. C Mount lenses generally are made for different size formats such as 1/2 inch, 2/3 inch, and 1 inch. Generally what you wanna look for are C mount lenses that are made for the 1 inch format as they would almost cover the whole m4/3 sensor.. =)
So I've received my 63mm f2 Cine Ektar, and as it turns out it's got some fungus inside the optics. It looks like it's in the middle optics. I have a 25mm 1.4 Cine Ektar coming in too and I'm thinking of sending both of them for CLA. Anybody got any suggestions?
Also i heard that putting the lens into direct sunlight kills it. Any truth to that as well? Thought with the current weather these days getting direct sunlight would be hard.
I just bought a Senko 25mm F0.95. I need to cut off 3mm from the focus ring in order to fit the rj adapter and focus to infinity. Anyone knows where i can machine the lens?
Edit: I think it is a Navitar 25mm F0.95 not Senko, judging by the pictures I found on the internet.
