No claim to the originality of the image circle chart which is available in public domain and is widely known to the MFT forumers. (If I were to write a paper, I would quote the source in the reference)
Anyway, here is another chart, from wikipedia:

My friend, Roger, trying to act "cute" in front of the Cooke Kinic lens

I wonder if my observation is correct; the cine swirl is Leica like but much much more exagerated?
The above pic is making me dizzy :bsmilie:

Speaking from a Leica M user's POV, I would say the swirly bokeh produced by the cine lens has a very different signature from that of Leica lens. For this particular example (a Cooke Kinic 1 inch), it is a close copy of classic Josef Petzval Portrait lens of 5 glass and known to produce sharp central image and swirl OOF bokeh effect. None of the Leica lenses I know of (including summar and summitar which have a little swirly bokeh) produce such effect. The other cine lens that I know to produce strong swirly bokeh is the Elgeet 1" f1.9 which is very tiny, cover full sensor, and quite cheap (below US$200).
Swirly bokeh is not everyone's cup of tea. It should only be used selectively. Roger's face is just one of few quick shots I took soon after I received the lens from eBay. I am still exploring and so far, loving it.
One more shot, lagi more dizzy :sweatsm: (experimenting MF using LCD for action shot. No excuse for OOF and no artistic value whatsoever.)

Me made no claim to the originality of the image circle chart which is available in public domain and is widely known to the GetDPI members (and me one of them).
Having said that, If I were to write a paper, I would probably quote the source in the reference![]()
