Hi KT,

Not quoting you to single out anything you said, but just to continue the discussion ... I'm wondering

How does one define 'style', and what factors contribute to the development of one's (technical and artistic) vision and style? Is vision really essential in the development of a particular 'style', or can the two be separated and exist exclusively?

It would be interesting to see the discussion on these. ;-)

DM, my personal feel is no limitations on how I shoot, but instead shoot whatever pattern I like... Vision is the way one see things but may not be the same as wat another may see. Ur vision can aid in e development of ur style but style shld not be limited by ur vision. Coz if u only depend on ur vision, and not considering other alternatives, then u r bounded by ur own views. Which is y I mention to look more into other ppl works to gain new visions which creates new style or allow us to integrate these new views into our existing styles. ;)

Thanks for sharing that KT, and YouHong.

Gimme awhile to digest that. I'm brain dead right now. :embrass:

Ok, had a re-read ...

I often wonder about those two things - vision and style, and how others go about developing them, and whether keeping a constant style to suit one's vision was preferable, and alter it along the way as vision's change, or to dabble in all sorts of styles with no particular vision ... which could work both positively and negatively.

I ask because I have heard that having a vision, a clear vision or a strong one was better than having no vision and dabbling in different styles.
