Ei...what do you guys look for in a tripod ah?
number critiria is of course STABILITY.
follow by weight, ease of operation, cost etc etc lah...
haha...then straightforward question for you then...what is the best bang for buck tripod in your opinion?
bro, there is no one horse for all courses....
I have seen people spent $1.5K for a tripod ( carbon fiber ), light and stable, because he say that buy one can last for a life-time, no need to think about tripod anymore :bsmilie:
If you like to shoot macro, it is best that you get those tripod that is able to go all the way to GROUND level , and able to mount the camera reversed so that you can shoot top down. Choose something that has an extendable arm so that the cam can be closer to the subject.
If your camera + lens is very heavy ( about 5 Kg ). And you are shooting birds especially, it is best to get as stable as possible tripod that your bank can afford. :bsmilie:
I have an experience shooting a "Ge Tai" during a seventh month. Due to the crowd, I have to stand on a round chair to shoot, or else I will be shooting on people's heads. But my tripod is not high enough to stand on the ground. I then have to place the tripod on another stool which makes the tripod very unstable...
It is all about what you are shooting...
I cant take my eyes off my new TOY so i took it out for some test runs... ISO Performance is  Almost perfect at 800 and some noise at 1600. Beginning to love this toy... Most prob bring it to shoot cars on sat...
But now, back to my work... Argh!!!
