try using those software recovery programs... eg. file scavenger, recover files, recover lost data, scavenger data recovery, etc...

all are free downloadable!

I have heard of it...

But can I ask you something, r u able to review the images after u took the shots?

let's said after 5 -10mins later..

If u r able to review it then the next step to check whether the card is confirm not faulty.. 100% for sure is to take out the CF card and leave it for let's said til next day if after which u still can review the images in the card most likely not card problem.

Sometimes is the body somehow it jus triggers the format circuitry internally...

unusual....:think: mine last time can't view the contents on the cam then used card reader.. then the reader and the CF card is smoking.. smells bbq :bsmilie:

Last time in the SanDisk saga.. those 8gb fake CF were actually 1gb/2gb cards but flashed to behave like a 8gb. Problem comes with u exceed 1gb space and it overwrites the initial space again and again.

Gavin have you tried recovery software yet? Should come with extreme 3 cf.. if you dun have let me know, i pass u a copy.

I using sandisk ultra 4GB. Not the extreme huan.

Havent try the recovery yet but my picture count shows 0. When i check the usage they put 0MB used out of 3.8 GB.
