Here are some shots taken using the lens, as a portraiture lens it works well. Very sharp (maybe a bit too sharp) haha.

Is it mean, for example, at 1 meter away, the widest aperture is f2; at 3 meter away, the widest become only f2.5?

i used the tamron 90 for a brief period and it's the same...
same goes to the nikon afs60 f/2.8 micro

I think most macro lenses can do that. If you want to toy around with the plan of focus, do consider a TS lens.

Full Time manual focus with internal focussing finally. F/2 is sharp and fast.

Dual purpose 60mm great for portraits and Macro.
Better than Canon 60mm F2.8 IMO which I tried few months back.

This lens open wider while focusing. Probably it can focus fast. We don’t have to limit ourselves to shooting close-ups. Effectively a short telephoto, it has utility as a portrait lens. As a relatively fast telephoto, it can be used for street shooting and landscapes under low lighting conditions.

But there is one caveat, though Tamron macro does offer a fast f2 maximum aperture, it loses a stop at the deep end, extending to only f22, in contrast to f32 on those other lenses.

Tamron lenses tend to be "plasticky" so it does not give much confidence in terms of build quality. Nevertheless, the Tamron macros have had great reviews :thumbsup:

not something you'd bring to a warzone, so engineering plastic would do fine to keep it light. it feels better built than the tamron 90, thats for sure. i'd get it if i were still on crop. internal focusing is a big improvement, as with the 1stop extra. =)
