Tamron SP AF60mm F/2.0 Di II LD (IF) MACRO 1:1

Just casually called Lords about this lens. They quoted S$770 for Nikon mount.

No. It has a Di II designation, and hence is meant for DX sensors.

Alamak, why so many lens designed for DX sensor? Cant they release more full frame lens so that both full frame and DX sensors can use? ;p

Just got quote from MS Colour for Canon Mount - SGD780.

those who own this lens, appreciate if you can provide some review. Tks

Tammy already has a 90mm prime for FF camera. so they are releasing the 60mm prime for cropped sensor.

Just to share what I have taken using this lens. Enjoy !

Just picked up a copy of the Oct 09 Digital SLR Photography magazine. They reviewed this lens giving it a 5 star rating. Plus points were high lens resolution and generally fast and accurate AF when tested on Canon 400D and 450D, though it tends to hunt occasionally.

A larger max aperture will help with the AF or MF (brighter).

more expensive than EFS 60mm.. Why do they need f/2.0 at all.. most of the time we turn to f/11~14 to max the DOF.

I finally bite the bullet and bought it. Will take some shots over the weekend.

Hope I can try it as soon as possible ^^

Read somewhere that the max aperture will reduce to less then F2 at close range.. maybe F2.2 at 0.6m.

Anyone got more info on this? say, what is the closest subject distance possible before the max aperture drops to below F2?

Test run of the lens:

Hi guys, does the canon mount version's motor still gives whizzing sound when focusing?:)

$770? Isn't more expensive than the 90mm and should be very close in price to the new Nikon 85mm f3.5 micro lens are well.

It's an F2 lens. Plus IF and FTM. It's like a class above the 90mm.
