Its cost over $2K after discount from Sim Lim Square Dealer? Quite Pricey at the moments?

Just wondering if anyone knows when the Nikon Mount for this lens would be arriving in singapore?

My colleague just bought from man shing at $1830 with 1 yr international warranty

Just bought yesterday, $1960 at CP, cash or credit (no add. 2%). Even cheaper than my usual SLS haunts!

Great lens right!

The Nikon mount model will be first released in Japan on March 28, 2013 and subsequently elsewhere.

The Canon mount is now on sale, and the sales date of the Sony compatible mount model will be announced later.

The Sony mount model does not include VC because the body of Sony digital SLR cameras includes image stabilization functionality. The product name for Sony cameras is " SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di USD " without the VC designation.

Yup.. Then after that they also have to pay more for the "Sony mount"..

End up same price...

The price will never drop for Sony mount even if you have SteadyShot inside~ in fact my sigma 70-200 for Sony include OS too

can anyone share sample pix? interested in this lens too. how does it perform in low light? in terms of autofocus?

the AF on this lens is sharp, fast and accurate. AF tracking was excellent as well for my shots of the white tiger leaping out of the water during feeding time.

some online sources such as lens rental has pointed out that its actually a 70-186mm lens instead of 200mm.

the answer is actually both true and false. I have tested this lens against canon's 70-200 F2.8L mk II, and noted that when you are shooting subjects far away, the framing of the tamron and the canon were exactly the same. 200mm.

it is only when you are focusing on items very nearby, close to the minimum focusing range of 1.3 meters, where the focus breathing does indeed make the lens 186mm. will try to post some samples to illustrate.

the only other drawback i can see is more noticeable vigneting on the tamron vs canon at F2.8 which you can see from the samples below

I think low light performance depends on your camera body as well. Works great In low light on my 6d and 1dx. The last 2 pics of the 1.4x extender box was under my table and very dark. ISO 12800 shutter speed 1/20. That should let u know how dark it was. AF achieved without issue.

Any luck with the Nikon mount? I checked with CP and TK, and they have no idea when they'd be getting the Nikon version of this lens. Looking at the sample images from ricleo, this should be a wonderful buy for less than 2000, which is 1000 cheaper than the VRII.
