Totally agree, i was actually thinking of getting the 18-270 for myself as a christmas present, i guess i will wait for the new one to launch first and hopefully the new one is better or maybe when the new one comes out, the old one will decrease price hehehe.....just need to wait abit i guess.....;p

Just got back from Japan. Saw it at Bic Camera there. Really nice and compact. At least 20% smaller than its predecessor. Forgot the price (coz in a big rush) but seems to recall pretty ex there. Of course in my rush, no time to try it - was cheonging other things... heh heh... anyway, with my past experience of the predecessor won't want to get it without Singapore warranty.

No, this lens is for cropped sensor cameras, it has a smaller image circle.
