only one thing to say.. this lens is

I've been waiting for the lens. Still not here yet. Not sure if it can arrive before NYD. Sigh... :(

same here not sure ..will it arrive before the 7% Gst

jin eh bo... i waiting for my minolta 1 to reach sg..

Steady eh. I HATE to say this. i compared this with the 17-55 2.8 i used for a few ADs, i very very surprisingly think the tamron is very very close in competition with the former. The entire day i shot around f4 - 5.6. photos are sharp, colours are neutral. My setting was on moderate contrast so the colours came out more saturated and looked good. And here's the thing. i felt it handled low light better then the dx lens. Only set back is the af not as fast. Thats it. its IF too so only the zoom is extended. Very very good lens. VALUE FOR MONEY at 1/3 the price of the DX. i give it

It has replaced my Canon 17-40 L lens, which I have sold off.

Is the canon mount version here yet? Most probably getting this or the Tokina 16-50 to replace the kit lens.

what mount are you looking for? i bought my tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 (nikon f-mount) from Lords just about a week ago! Saw about 3 to 4 more boxes sitting on the shelf.

it's a great lens and I'm loving it's quality, sharpness and compact size.. despite having similar specs to the nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8, the tamron's quite a bit smaller and not as heavy as the former. Using it as a walkabout + it's very very affordable price.. shiok la.

good luck in your search! :bsmilie:

Not here yet, I think around mid Jan will be coming in. Need to wait patiently........
:dunno:

Saw this lens at Peninsula K-13 level 1 in front of the escalator above bata. Several copy...might want to check that place out.;)

is it up to ur standard? care to share the photo u took with this lens?

Sharpness is up to par. It can take lower light shots with nicer bokeh than the 17-40.

Contrast and colour are a little inferior, but nothing that cannot be improved with post-processing.

I suppose you got the Canon mount overseas?

just wondering...can this lense be use with a 10D?

It may but use it at your own risk. No guarantee that the mirror will not hit the rear element of the lens.

10D image sensor size is 22.7 x 15.1 mm

if the image sensor size is not bigger than 24 X 16mm

should be able to use the Tamron Dii
