Tamron 150-600mm F5-6.3 ultra-telephoto zoom

DD we r both wrong.

Technogadget is selling this len for $1581. Not competitive at all la
Actually I was researching to buy this lens online or not before i got it from SLRR. I noticed the price is higher due to lack of stock globally. Some sites like digitalrev still puts it as pre-order or higher price. Note that I'm noticing a price diff between Nikon mount and Canon mount. Nikon mount stock finally appeared in greater quantity this month.

Canon mount is around $15xx if im not wrong.
Price will drop eventually, and technogadget should be couple of hundreds lower than retail.

Btw how much u bought?

A 'macro' shot of a dragonfly, this was cropped 30% of original SOOC JPEG at 600mm handheld VC

This is a full frame shot of a Banded Woodpecker (Chrysophlegma miniaceum) at 600mm handheld no VC

nice.... with a D810 i believe your 600mm can behave like a 900mm?... cropping power... hee

Its already out for awhile. I saw TK has stock last weekend.

You mean crop from 36MP full frame output ? Yes, there's good sharpness on the D810 and the 150-600mm.. it can almost behave like a 1200mm actually for day shots. (That dragonfly is cropped to around that ? I havent done the maths.. lol)

I had wanted to get a D7100 (one of my favourite aps-c dslrs) to get the crop factor, but i did the maths and realise the D810 can do all that and lot better noise handling (and 1/8000 shots)

tested the lens again. very impressive!

cheers & take care!

nice pic. Any users here using it with Sony a7r?

sony A-mount only hit the shelves maybe end of the year. you just gave me an idea to try it wide open on the a7/r (but need to MF and no VC) ;)

Cannot focus on LAEA4? Anyone has any idea if the A mount has VC? Newer sigma A mount lenses retain their OS making it feasible to use adapted on the E mount systems...

Collected my 150-600mm local set Sony Version yesterday 260814 afternoon at Click! Funan ..tested with my Sony A77 in Click! showroom...seems to work and focus perfect with my A77 ...will go nature photography asap this week .

Hi silvermoon1407 .. there is no VC switch on my Sony A mount 150-600mm version .

Just wondering whether the focusing is good or working at 600mm where f stop is f6.3? Most af points of Sony only works for f5.6 or bigger.

Thanks for the note. That's a bummer then. Looks like A7 users who wants to do birding need to reconsider their options...

bro, i had the canon mount and cheapo EF-Nex adapter... haha...

like other bro mentioned, no VC for A-mount :( quite impressed with the VC, allowing me to nail shots at 600mm, 1/125s with elbow on table.

this lens is sharp up to 550mm. at 600mm, f6.3, it will be slightly soft but very useable still (for birding). havent tried it for sports though...

no prob to AF on A-mount or LAEA-4.
