Tamron 150-600mm F5-6.3 ultra-telephoto zoom

Thanks for the sharing. I will be camping here to find out more about this lens. Haha

bro, i had the canon mount and cheapo EF-Nex adapter... haha...

like other bro mentioned, no VC for A-mount :( quite impressed with the VC, allowing me to nail shots at 600mm, 1/125s with elbow on table.

this lens is sharp up to 550mm. at 600mm, f6.3, it will be slightly soft but very useable still (for birding). havent tried it for sports though...

no prob to AF on A-mount or LAEA-4.

(Using Nikon version)
The VC makes the lens very usable with minimal support, i've got great shots handheld in many situations.
At 600mm, i try to shoot at f/8 which gives great sharpness. AF tracking speed is good with my D810 (assuming you can swing this guy fast enuf to track the subject)

Thanks for the note. That's a bummer then. Looks like A7 users who wants to do birding need to reconsider their options...

why is that so?
there are always tripod or monopod to support which is better than any VC.
in fact this lens came at the right time for birding season.

I read in some forums complains about this lens losing communication with the Nikon bodies. Anyone experienced that?

If you're shooting a bright day light, you wouldn't be using the VC anyway.. Shots at >=1/2000 is sharper without VC.

Nope. I've used the lens on my D810 and D5300.. no problems at all..

My only complain so far is the VC causes an image shift sometimes.. Happens when it goes to sleep, and you half press and wake up, and u will notice a slight image shift. Besides that its fine. (I usually off VC anyway)

No problem on mine also. But then again, I do not use it that much.

Too bright can be too harsh lighting which may not be nice. but then why is it using 1/2000sec is sharper without VC? sharpness is related to the lens elements, why do u relate it with VC?

Not talking bout harsh lighting, more on having a lot of availble light. I love shooting in the bright mornings when the sun is coming in from the back and you get great colors off the birds, etc.

Perfect sharpness (Up to maximum of the lens optics) is only achieved with no camera shake.

The VC attempts to 'negate' your camera shake by moving elements inside, so you'll never get the best image quality with VC on everytime (Not unless the VC is in perfect sync with your movement which is random and unpredictable). Shooting at 1/2000 (4x the 1/focal length rule) will reduce the effects of camera shake, in a more predictable fashion.

More shots with the Tamron 150-600mm at Garden By the Bay.

I was just shooting someo ther birds when i saw this Heron flying in for a landing.. Nice thing bout Tamron 150-600mm is that its light enough to handhold while walking around and i got this bird in flight moment..
