Tamron 150-600mm F5-6.3 ultra-telephoto zoom

This juvenile seems to grow prettier and we thought it was a male Juve then.
It still likes to perch at this stick that support the small tree.

Try to shoot at f/8, thats when this lens really shines.

Yes,u can try to stop down but I don't think at F6.3 it is so soft unless u are quite far away.

sharing my first birding post with this lens.

Garden by the Bay is my favourite spot since its easy to get to and not that warm. Botanic gardens is nice too but bit larger. These places, try to avoid peak periods of weekends or evenings as birds easily get scared away. I've recently enjoyed walks in Pasir Ris Park and plan to check out Tampines Eco Green where many clubsnap bros have gotten great shots.

Was at Sungei Buloh yesterday and saw many nice birds and animals to shoot, here's some (non bird) shots.

Thx Alfie for the info.
Will find time to visit these places ;)\

Happy Shooting!

Thanks, I will try some day, I am still trying to get use to the G Lens, the aperture control is different from my other lens, manual and AF-D lens. Maybe I should try to use the manual mode, fix aperture at f8, and then change the shutter speed, and let the camera controls the ISO.

Just wondering, do you guys encountered the issue that the camera is unable to focus when it is at 600mm? You will need to zoom out to 150mm, focus, and then zoom into 600mm again?

Nope. My lens is at 600mm all the time when i shooting birds. Was ur object too close? Did u accidently enable the focus limiter? Using pdaf or cdaf?

Sharing few shots taken today...

Nope. I don't set the focus limiter. In fact, I am shooting close to infinity; maybe I am still not used to such a long lens and the patience for it to search for focus. I don't hear any noise for the focusing and if the system is working hard to focus or not.

BTW, what is pdaf and cdaf? never heard of the term.

PDAF - Phase Detection AF (i.e. shooting via OVF)
CDAF - Contrast Detetion AF (i.e. shooting via liveview)
