A thousand apologies, I went to double check my Excel spreadsheet and noticed there was a wrong formula in place.
the actual total was 1820 and not 5250. My mistake.

Plus 17 hours, as of Friday 1400, we have

Reserved 439 (24.1%)
Vacant 1381 (75.9%)
Total 1820 (100%)

Assuming
Chapel capacity 110 pax; 8 Sessions = 880 pax
Program Space capacity 80 pax; 8 sessions = 640 pax
MIG capacity 60 pax; 5 session = 300 pax
Total = 1,820

Thanks for the statistic

I have broken it down to more details, so that we have visibility on which talk is not doing to well and the location of the talk. In this way we can take action to blast out and create more hype and publicity for those. Also we can shrink the capacity (take away some chairs except MIG) on the actual day of the talk so that it does not look bad for the speaker.

Thank you for the detailed breakdown.

What is the upper limit to attendance for each venue? Esp Program Space? At what number do we close the thread or announce further names are reserve list?

Chapel 110 Max 130?
Program Space 80 Max 100?
MIG Fixed 60

Assuming 10-20% no show, a 20% buffer suggested by Eddie earlier is reasonable.

Plus we might enjoy spillover effect.

1. I have revised the capacity by -10 seats across the board. The capacity given is the max and it is really pack. By revising down the place will still be pack but not overly pack. Why shoot our foot when we can control the environment ?

2. I have closed 3 threads ie those that are oversubscribed. When choices become lesser and when ppl see the door closing then they will have more urgency to move in to grab something. In airborne jump it is call the "rush of the earth" when exiting from aircraft the descend seems to be rather slow, but when closer to the ground suddenly the ground seems to be rushing up on you and descend seems very fast.

3. We will open the registration to the public on Monday evening. (Darren please help in this)

Overall I am not too alarmed, we are on track, except for 2 talks ie WeBin and Kite Photography.

For Stefano I will be speaking to him to let him open his talk on his online registration as he has also a large base.

Will get SAM to see if they want to email to their mailing list - if Nicole is around this is not a problem but then she is not around... but will try to get it going.

By % banding

80% and above - All these are ok and use these to create a sense of demand, ie close them when they reach capacity so that ppl have no choice but quickly take up the Sun slot

Kelvin 83/80 = 103.7.%

Yadi - 90/80 = 112.5%

David Hilos 56/60 = 125%

Kim Lau 97/110 = 88% *

50% - 79% Auto Pilot mode - just keep up with our aggressive spamming

Stephen 73/110 = 66% *

Geoff Ang 76/110 = 69.4% *

Steve Wong 41/80 = 51%

30 - 49% - those above 40% are OK it will move up substantially, when the Sat slots are fill and no choice but Sun. Auto pilot mode

LiewTL 41/110 = 47% *

Darren Soh 36/80 = 45%

Stephen (2nd) 49/110 = 44%

Aik Beng/Ivan 35/80 = 43%

The ones here below 40% need attention and pushing especially where sponsors* involved

Wesley 28/80 = 35%

William Chua 37/110 = 33.6%

Tim Cheong 34/110 = 30% *

Stenfano MIG 20/60 = 33%

ALbert Chua 27/110 = 24.1% *

29% and below - Except Albert Chua these are the ones we need to be concerned but no point putting in alot of effort. We need to see what can be done to contain the damage and make the best of it - (One of the principle of employing reserves in a battle is "do not commit reserves to redeem failure but use it to exploit success - for the decisive blow"

Stenfano Program Space 15/80 = 18.5%

Kristupa 15/80 = 18%

Kite (KAP) 7/60 = 11%

WuBin 3/60 = 5%

Tim (Canon) and Albert (Olympus) in the below 40% band are a in the uncomfortable zone and is of concern, that we need to put our energy on, as they are perceive as reflection of the brands.

Apart form that its moving ok.

One must note that so far no other organization in Singapore has undertaken such a big project of hosting 21 talks and 3 Photowalks over 2 days. We are the first, I believe.

BTW the numbers used and % are still based on the old capacity.

FYI, I have been sending out Mail Blast to All Members. Hope this will help.

A thousand apologies, I went to double check my Excel spreadsheet and noticed there was a wrong formula in place. The actual total was 1820 and not 5250. My mistake. Huge relief but still 45% to go. If we can hit 70% by Sunday 2100, we are ok. Anything above is a great bonus.

my suggestion,

what sells to photographers is pictures, what i see is text, that does not excite me and make me want to attend the talk

request a picture of at least 800pixel width (with water mark)
request a profile picture of the speaker (we post individual talks and tag the speaker, the sponsoring brands)
we can start with the sponsored talks first

then we update the forum thread and also post on facebook, google + and get the sponsors to push their talks as well.

Thanks to all for managing the lists and signups. Very heartening to see good takeup.

For the photowalks, I have been helping Eddie process the cancellations (sent via email and PM) and the current walks statistics are

21 April - 29/40 73%
22 April - 21/40 53%
22 April Infrared - 9/12 75%
