ISO for fireworks is always 100.
Aperture like they say varies to how thin you would like your fireworks to look.
Smaller aperture equals thinner lines.
F8 - F11 is recommended by most websites but we have used F16 for worse case scenario of no wind with lots of smoke from the fireworks.
Exposure rate varies depending on how congested is the fireworks.
Less congested equals longer time to put more patterns in.
Use a blackcard to allow selective exposure of the fireworks pattern.

Along the stretch at Esplanade, most photographers will camp there super early.
Unfortunately that means you and whatever army will have to fight with the rest of the 60k people.
I managed to squeeze myself into one of those camps last year while my gutless friend stay behind and gets multiple figurines in the picture.
Those folks from Malaysia are really nice people who taught me a few tricks on photographing fireworks.
It would be a bit tough to organize a fireworks gathering as it involves a lot of waiting. I know as I have tried it for the Vivo shoot.
Sorry bro, would be the first to sign up for your camp if I wasn't going to CleonBus' sunset shoot.
I want to capture the last sunset of the year.
Let's not antagonize the 60k as most of them are FT looking to have a good rest.
They will do what they know best as in mingle tightly in an overwhelming group.
Note that I say group not groups as it is the whole stretch of FT.

What I suggest is those who are interested please PM the organizer and be puntucal for the gathering before the blockade starts.
Once the blockade commences, latecomers' space will have to be automatically given up as we are not the biggest group there.
Please don't place the tripod there and leave your comrade while you wine and dine after the blockade starts. There is almost no way for you to make it back, that's why it's called a blockade.
Latecomers like me will have to make do with either an obstructed view, bring a really tall tripod and stool or find a location not accessible to the public.
Booking of hotel is not economical as the fireworks is only 15min. Unless we are earning our keep with stock photos.

agreed... well im all for camping early... i will be arnd the area by abt 4-ish either one fullerton or the front of esplanade. so if any1 wanna join me or happen to be in the area leave ur contacts here. makes it easier to collaborate and join up early... cheers

How about they PM you instead of leaving their contact number here.
Cos some people might not feel comfortable putting up their number for all to see.
Fireworks shooters, be them first timers or old bird (Jacobs, ClemC you guys shooting this time?) Come over and join them so that we can support each other.
Don't bother about me, I definitely can't squeeze in and it's not fair for those who stay the whole duration to have someone else come in at the last moment.

If you are interested to share pictures after the fireworks we can stay overnight at the McDonlads near bugis.
Shoot the first sunrise at Clarke Quay after that or go for night scenery shoot around town.

YOG fireworks didn't just shoot from MBS. That time it launch from behind MBS, middle of the bay and the CBD buildings almost like NDP.
yea.. i mean behind the MBS... wonder how it will be this time round...
purely from the middle of the bay?
