Saw it at Best Denki Bishan. Price $749 with the normal freebies of memory card, tripod and camera case.
Lens hood is optional ? !
Had a nice time playing around with it. It was light and silent in zooming.
One thing surprised me was that the flash button on the left does not trigger the flash to rise up. The built-in flash unit has to be manually lift up by your hand. ? !
It is a nice super-zoom prosumer camera. Still not decided to get this or the Pany FZ100.
Any comments ?

My S5IS also design this way, the advantage the flash itself wont pop up on an unexpected, so you are more in control of the flash (anyway if you are zooming in all the way the flash wont be useful also ^_^|||)
I tested it out personally at my friend's shop.
It's kinda small for me to handle and built quality is light but quite sturdy.
EVF is kinda hard to use....
I am not familiar with it's menu so I tested out P mode and Auto.
Auto have the tendency to use higher ISO as I tested in the mall.
P mode yield better results.
Handheld at full zoom is possible without flash at P mode.
Image quality is good on the LCD, but gets noisy when you start zooming in.
I might bring my own SD card down next week and take some pics then upload to my comp and take a look.
Personal feelings after toying with it for about 15mins, decent compact performer with powerful zoom and good overall image quality, if not blowing up image. Given the low price tag, I might just snag one...

i went australia use, already v impressive when i shoot over the river... super far on tripod.
v happening liao
35x even better.
but i use before G11 , for clarity, G series is way better, and got raw.
nearer to DSLR level.
- For Don't-want lens change and want more zoom, get the SX series.
- for fuss-free clarity, G series is v good. and alternative to DSLR user (light wt compact)
- for best results still DSLR.

heard its not bad... but dun expect the same kind of build quality ah
you gotten yourself a sx30is??.. how you find it so far??..
Have not try much yet because of the haze/cloudy last week.
Most shots are acceptable but CA is a problem in some.
You can check out dpreview. Some of the shots there are amazing.
No point getting from overseas because the saving is so marginal.
Local set with 15 months warranty costs around $665 - $680 depending on stores.
