then shall i wait???? no any leak from Nikon?

if you wait you will end up never getting a camera. get a D200. i just got one yesterday.

Good for you... now time to SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT and post more pictures... ;)

So how much u get for ur d200 body?

The saving is significant. Consider a D80 and use the saving for a ext flash or a lens. Do you really need a metal body and sealings, worth paying the metal body and some extra features ?

And D80 is lighter too. Unlike the D70 or D50 , D80 has vertical grip as well.

buy d200. d80 is for ppl moving up from d50 or tight budget.

Just came back from Hong Kong and brought a Book "Nikon HAND BOOK D80".

There is a lot of comparison between the D70 D80 and D200 in all feature Picture quality, etc and following is my conclusion after reading the book.

Basically the D80 is far ahead in Picture quality against the D70 especially in the High ISO speed. Also it is recommended that user of the D80 have no worry to goes to ISO 800 for photo taking. The D80 is very close in performance to the D200 and in all test D200 only have a few added feature over the D80 but this feature does not show a significant difference in performance. Both the D 80 an D200 uses the same Sony 10.2 million CMOS but suppose the process on the D200 is better, but on D80 using the 12 bit processing typically is quite difficult to see the different in result. The only strong point I feel I like on the D200 is 5FPS phototaking as the D80 3FPS is a bit too slow. For me between the D80 and D200 with the price different I will go for the D80 as I see no advantage paying the extra but if I have a camera and waiting to upgrade I will surely wait for something newer.

the explaination is very clear,,,,thanks,so now I can decide what to buy already,,Any news promotion for next week PC show for NIKON.......

Hi there,I am new here and still have not decided what to buy,D80 or D200.Both are good camera.I can see that there are more D200 user than D80(maybe its new ) But from what i heard is that D200 battery goes weak very fast unless u use the battery grip. In performance using the buttons,D200 I can see are more easier than D80 .So my conclusion is that I still cannot decide what to buy...This is my 1st DSLR and I need camera that good in term of using it and etc....
Anyone out there can help me.

Thanks .**hope some pro out there can really give some idea.

Battery is not a big broblem :nono: , just get extra 1 or 2 more batteries to go along when shooting. I can simply reach approx. 500-600 shots for one fully charge battery, consider quite good.

I recommend D200.

Same here.... I normally can't expend one single battery in a day... takes me 2 days at least. And I always have a spare in my bag, so no worries.

At least 600 shots... ;)

Ur 1st DSLR? Were u on film before or progressing fm prosumer? If the latter, then I'd suggest the D80 cos fm wat I see on the D200, it doesnt has the scenes functions, as in the landcape, portrait, macro etc.. that will help us newbies if we cant get the right setting under the S,A or M modes...

Or does the D200 also has them but hidden?

Not really, you can always use the "P" mode function to shoot.

However I do miss some mode in the menu for the D200 over my previous D70s such as the "Landscape", "Sharper" & "Direct print" mode in the menu  . Those who use D70/D70s should know what I mean.

never use the features u mentioned ...

from the polling results, can see more ppl prefer D200 over D80, but not overwhelming ... i think it shows the reality on the differences between the two models.

anyway, i think i will buy D200, as i can use my 4G CF cards and i like D200 build. looks more professional ... haha~~~

but one thing don't understand is D80's 2 channel processing and D200's 4 channel processing. only processing speed difference?
