HI GUYS, ZOOM LENS THAT COVERS 50MM CAN DO ALSO.

Sorry, I failed to take this into consideration in the start thread.

Hi Dennis, we are looking for good and nice photos to place on our portal's homepage. Wonder if u are keen to supply your portfolio, preferably photos at raffles place / orchard rd. My email is eurekaw@singnet.com.sg

:o :embrass: sorry to kpo a bit, but such long shooting hours will have different lighting effect on the different side of the panaromic. eg. like one end is darker while the other end is brighter.
 me just a newbie, still learning, so  please correct me if i'm wrong.

thats why everyone needs to fire together.

just thought of something. say a car travelling from tangs to centerpoint. theres a chance it may appear in several frames :)

dont have to be shy, we are all learning.
I can make the trial shorter by shooting @ 5min interval, so the shoot will last from 12:00pm - 3:00pm (set up time of 3hr in included here). But that will not reflect the real logistic problem in full scale mode.

Then again, for the full scale project, do we want to record full 3hr, 6hr or 9hr. And if its for 3hr, than what time frame to shoot?

All this will have to wait till the "board of directors" is formed (will update once its form).

very gd idea!

but sadly no digital :( maybe some of us digital enthusiasts can cover the event?

sure, like wingless84 said, we will need some reporter to cover this event.

but then again, we may change the guidelines to include fellow cser with digital camera.

keep you eyes glue to this thread for lastest update.

I'd have thought the logical idea would be to synchonise everything... ie watches and therefore shutter trips, should be little problems with multiple captures of the same car then.

Dennis, sounds like a great idea. My only reservations at present are the difficulties with scanning a tranny consistently (professional scanners might do things better and have full manual controls; if you don't have full manual controls on the scanners they will do a level and af on each frame, tone compensation, etc, and you will end up with different exposures - I've always found stitching to be much easier to do with dig ironically enough; on the same camera of course).

Also, I am worried about your chosen 50mm focal length, I think you're going to miss out the best bits of Orchard Road. Ie you'll get the people and life, but you'll miss plenty of other bits. But I see your reasons for choosing that too.

Good luck!

It will not appear on several frames in the stitched up photo.
Let me explain :

@ 12:00, all cameras will fire 1 shot at that moment. so the cars & humans will be recorded in either 1 frame or at most 2 (if it happens to be @ the overlapping edge between 2 cameras.

@ 12:10, the human subject captured eg. in the 1st frame during the 12:00 panoramic photo may now appear in the 10th frame to the right. but cars travels faster, so during the trial (which covers only from CK Tang to Lucky Plaza) may have left the last frame to the right all together.

Hope this clear your doubt. Thanks for asking.

Thanks Jed.

Any suggestion to send to which shop the process the slides as well as scanning?

I estimate buying, developing and scanning a roll of sensia will be around $15.

Hope to meet up with all moderators to discuss on this project.

Thanks.

i am interested...but most imptly i need to know the dates and timing.

Sorry Dennis, I don't know the shops in Singapore at all these days. Aside from needing to talk to a good one and tell them exactly what you require vis-a-vis scanning, I don't have a specific one to recommend.
