wow, you shot in black and white?

i like the water splash in the third shot, but pity about the uninteresting background and the paper cup in the foreground

mind if i ask you where you scanned the photos?

You're right about the paper cup. The splash ain't significant in this shot I feel. The shot is just ordinary in itself and the cup and plank made it look worse.

thanks for the recommendation, the last two photos of kids have nice expressions captured

I like this shot, natural models!!

I like it too, but maybe crop away the messy hair on right side up to the arm.
Could do with some USM as well

Whoa Ortega, your daughter posing as you ah??! :o

Nice shots Caesium!!! You've captured all the mood in your portraits.

here are some post-processed shots, some quick experiments, still learning to see better :embrass: , so please tell me what you think about them ...

Changi-sunset-post-12.jpg

is the separation between foreground and background too much?

#2
Changi-sunset-post-13.jpg

are the colours of the water and the ambience matching or in conflict?

#3
Changi-sunset-post-14.jpg

is this too dark?

#1 - with this PP, I find that the sky becomes quite redundant, to a certain extent distracting

#2 - can't really see a conflict. I find that the shadows are not brought out

#3 - i thought you're a "dark" person :bsmilie:

#1 ... maybe i should make it more extreme then ... like a woodblock print

#2 ... i find that too much light actually kills the subtlety of the shadows ... because ...

#3 yes indeed, me very very dark  feel the force of the dark side (Sjourn breathing again :bsmilie: )

bump up the brightness lor, not good to look at dark screen all the time, you are letting in more radiation with your pupils all opened up

I missed this outing totally, was too busy and didn't have time to keep abreast with what's happening at CS :( You're a passionate bunch... for sunset! Last time I joined was the Punggol Marina Sunset, well hope I can join the future outings :)

I did go down to the Boardwalk about a month back, alone though. here's the best few of the roll. As usual, feel free to comment...

I quite like the sailboat (is it called sailboat?) Pic. But its lacking in shadow details somewhat.
