Yes... L plate is very very useful... mount very fast, compose very fast also... Extremely useful if you doing panning panaroma. Set up portrait mode and pannnnn.....
That's why I cannot tahan, went ahead and ordered the Camdapter manfrotto L-plate from USA. Ended up cost me around SGD$140. Lucky his postage very cheap, $6 only for international. Got my L plate in 6 days.

Ya, somemore this camdapter is still very small company. 1 man show I think. arca style L plate only US$89 only... cheap.

DD, the plate is a generic one which we can mount on any ballhead? Q3E?
It is Arca-swiss style. Users of this mount includes Markins, Kangrinpoche, Acrartech, Arca-swiss, Kirk, RSS, Sirui, many more...
Just that I am not using this mount yet... kind of locked into manfrotto for the time being. Still fulfilling my needs la, so no point to change to arca style for now.

so far have not found the need to do panning in portrait orientation...

Bro, 110 vs 70... one is L plate, one is normal plate... still need to think meh? eat a few plates of chicken rice, money gone already.
Landscapers' dream la... L plate. must have. It also helps when doing portrait orientation. Imagine with normal plate, you must put the post into the slot on the ball head.. limit your movements.. somemore if not in right direction, must pan the slot to the side. With this L place, just release, remount, you are good to go. Plus, no more restrictions in angles when in portrait mode. plus CG of camera weight still with center column, more stable. also less stress on the ball head since not stressed to one side....
