Woo..jz saw this.. so i guess shd be quite reasonably priced.

Bro, when u msg me jz nw, i tell u i might have the same model..

Jz checked.. Mine is T-1004!! without the X.. wonder whts the difference man?:think:

Maciam D3 -> D3x .. major improvement?~?!:bigeyes:

Bro, I do know that some models in the old T series has monopod capability. And some don't have. But recently they just standardized and removed all monopod capability from the travel series and named all with X. So it is clear the ones with X has no monopod capability. But seriously, if you have monopod capability, it adds on to the weight, which defeats the purpose of a travel tripod.

Bro, do your T-1004 has monopod capability?

monopod capability from a tripod...? interesting. Trying to imagine how it works...

That means that one of the legs is heavier though, because of the reinforcing for the threaded mount.

Bro, if you start birding, that's it bro, you lens collection value will start to jump exponentially, and so will your BBB spending... :devil:

I think it is not something I want. If I want a monopod, I will just get a monopod. Not that ex anyway. Plus, using a tripod leg as monopod, the monopod will be too short anyway.

Hahahah I agree.... slowly bro! macro then landscape then portraits and now birding? Wah... methinks you need the 100+ litre dry cabi very soon!

agreed... one day I'll go look-see at K13 again for a cheap monopod.

No leh, actually hor the monopod would be about the same height (on mine it is like 20mm shorter than the tripod fully deployed - 2cm niah!!) as the tripod... Imagine this: you spread the tripod out, each leg angles out... then you detach the monopod, from the same leg point position, angle out the monopod until it is vertical. It should roughly equate to the same height, as the tripod. In the picture above, of course the monopod is much shorter... but dun forget that you don't straighten your tripod legs when you shoot right? If you do, then... Sargeant NNB will come and scream in your face: "Recluit DD123! You donno how to use a tripod isit??!?! Down 100!!!" :bsmilie:

For my tripod, it is actually slightly higher than my required height - so I actually need to shorten the last legs a bit, or else I need to step on a stool... But okay lah, I believe I'm still a growing man... :bsmilie:

you're right I guess, but then I would need a monopod that's about 1.7m when fully extended, and none of those 'convertible' tripods has a leg that long... :)

Then you'll need a stool for your monopod! :bsmilie::bsmilie:

Have you actually calculated what is the prefered monopod height for your high-tower figure? For Sirui series, highest monopod height is 1570mm (from the S series). Add to that your ballhead height, plus the height from the base of your cam (including the PG80 plate) to the viewfinder...

have lah... I've tried some Slik and Benro ones that are too tall even for me... :)

But at that time I wasn't even considering a monopod... actually even now I don't know if I need one, hence looking for one on the cheap.
