[SunChasersSG] Newbie Outing (Part 15) - Clarke Quay Sunrise 7th Aug

Speaking of exposure, where's the owner of this set up? I bet he's doing PP sharp, sharp to blow us away eh?

He was busy with macro and I bet he has to go for his BD lunch/dinner or something.

Thanks for organising the outing . . .

Bro,

Not bad. Nice and sharp. To take it to the next step, will be probably good to look at adjusting the White Balance of the shots. Give it a warmer feel. It will be quite easy to adjust if you shot in RAW.

BTW bro, are you the guy in the white polo shirt?

Bro, first is to tune the WB to a warmer color. The rest is up to you.. I would add a graduated 25% purple (that's so my signature) or blue to the top part of the sky... Then maybe boost vibrance a bit...

But once WB is settled, a lot of difference already.

what say you bro? hehehe...
Will stop this for now and clear my mind... dinner time! ;p

Hey Jeezuin,

#2 and #3 I think there is a very slight tilt to the right. And both actually can benefit from a slightly wider view.

Everything else is quite ok. #1 is slightly overexposed. The choice to use (almost) tungsten WB is nice.. gives it a different glow.

Panaronma is quite nice. But a shift of view more to the right would make the picture more complete.

Well done!

thanks for the inputs DD. actually for #1 my WB is auto. i was surprised at the result when the photo was taken, tried taking it again but could not achieve the same effects.

YOG time

Bro, Daredevil is doing the YOG dance while ZCA is being poisoned by Korbidp3k.

no poison no poison... :dunno:
just play-play only to see how it feels

#3 is nicer. But can use a boost in contrast and vibrance. Almost there bro. While you are at it, is it possible to darken the sky wee bit?

if I darken the sky hor... I must darken the reflection too... as it is, it's already quite unrealistic...
let me sit on it whilst I go feed my tummy...

dunno can gatecrash NNB's party or not

C&C welcome. I see problems with exposure and focus. :(

Thanks!

#2 looks quite ok in terms of exposure.
The main issues are the focus (looks out), and the white balance is a little bit too strongly on the red side (warm). Can see the Riverside Point facade quite reddish.

Not bad bro. A little soft but not too bad. #1 can use some contrast boost and a 0.5 stop increase in exposure. Well done! If you are doing PP, you can try to do a slight sharpening.

Still, you managed to get the purple clouds reflected from Central ;)
What time was this? I think I got mine 6:59am so colour would have been most vivid at 6.57?

I am so sorry I did not tell you earlier about steady shot. But landscape no need 100s, 5s/10s also can get very good landscapes. Depends on the light.

Welcome you to join us again bro.

What technique is this "steady shot"?

What technique is this "steady shot"?

It is Sony Alpha's version of VR. James did not turn off Steady Shot most of the morning, so most of his tripod shots are all shaky. I forgot to tell him to turn it off.... :embrass:

Now then I realised my this angle of view was good looking..;)
Great shot Kevin !..

Yandao, means yandao la. If handsome hor, you look from any side also good looking mah. ;)

Learned steady shot is not for landscape or maybe everything. good pics must have long exposure least 100s... thk DD 4 the lesson today.

Ahhh... so steady shot is Sony version of VR. Yes, when mounted on tripod it must be deactivated. Still, it is useful when hand-holding up to a certain shutter speed.

Thanks bros! Noted. Must go read more on landscape focusing + shoot in raw.
