[stuck] S'pore!

I was actually headed down to CP6, but waited for a cab for 30 minutes and none stopped. Back to bed for me. It's becoming a common occurence these days (I think I only manage to get a cab half the time), maybe I should just give up sunrises altogether until I can afford a car. :bsmilie:

Where do you live?

6am is usually cabbies changing of shift.
for those cabs that you do managed to flag down, try to get their personal contact number. You probably can make personal booking with them.

I like the tone and colour of this piece. Though I find the tree on the left distracting and overall, something seems a miss, I cannot put my finger to it. Perhaps the over lapping silhouette, or the lack of details in the shadows. But then again, it is precisely the timing of the picture that caught my interest.
Was this sunrise or sunset?

other than the distracting elements mentioned.
the "forest" in the background merged with the trusses of the bridge. You would like to have a clean background for the trusses to show clearly.

thanks for pointing that out coolthought! Honestly when i took this shot i didn't even begin to think abt things like this. Hopefully now I know better & won't make the same mistakes again. Definitely a location to revisit another time. cheers!

Given my proclivity for shooting rocky seascapes, I should have visited this location long ago. Always thought of this place as a sunset location, but given the overcast/hazy conditions recently I figured the sun won't be making an appearance anyways & hence decided to have a shot (just a figure of speech of course ;p) at this location. The sky was predictably boring but hopefully the foreground elements are interesting enough to make it work. Any C&C as always is welcome. Cheers!

Great work! But I think it needs something that can lead the eye from foreground to background? Some rocks probably? :) As I see some rocks in your foreground, you can maybe go there again when the tide is lower and the skies are good. :D

Anyway, that area is one of the most beautiful while walking the Changi Beach Broadwalk. The only gripe is that branch dangling from another tree, that probably grew too fast and long enough to reach that partially dead tree near the rock. :( Kinda spoil the overall compo for my pics however. :( I'm probably gonna build myself with some recycled clothes hanging poles long enough to push those branches away. And those floating platforms with the white Teflon roofs, somehow creates little unnecessary attention grabbing for most pics though. They've been there for quite a while I've noticed.

Thanks for the comments Stefan! There were rocks in the foreground that lead to the big one until these gigantic waves came in from nowhere & I thought it was a good opportunity to catch some wave action. Seldom get such choppy waters so I figured it was worth a shot before it disappeared. I think it would have been much better if I was standing abt a meter to the left, then the waves would act as a leading line. However by the time I recomposed the waves disappeared as quickly as they came. I've another version of this with much calmer waters, but thought this worked better.

I agree with the branches over the tree - so irritating! haha toyed with the idea of cloning them out actually but decided to leave it. The floating structures unfortunately are going to stick around i think - maybe fish farms or something. Thanks for dropping by as always! :)

Something else from this morning with the ND110.

I was on the other side of this rock couple days back trying to find a good angle without that low hanging branch but I gave up. Think you did well with version 2. Somehow it works for me with the low branch and the foreground. It has a nicer balance than the first imho!

I have to agree that version 2 is more balanced too! However I'm just so taken with the wave action & how the big rock looks in the first one. haha thanks for dropping by! :)

A quick shoot before dinner. Conflicting emotions abt this one - on the one hand I love the contrast between the ominous storm clouds gathering behind the tower and the maelstrom of light trails in the junction in the foreground. On the other hand, I'm not sure whether the multiple criss-crossing lights are too messy & weakens the composition. Would love to hear what others think abt this one. cheers!

Decided to stay dry for a change this weekend & revisit Marina Bay. Just realised that the Merlion pump may actually significantly affect the calmness of the water.

This shot was taken shortly before the Merlion came 'alive'. Nicest reflection I've got so far... pity abt the cloudy sky!

lovely! you got a solid reflection on a good morning with #51!

Thanks! It was the first time I seen the waters so still! too bad the sky was still overcast at the time. :(

One of the rare times I get to sneak out to shoot sunsets. Rushed down to Lower Peirce Reservoir to find the sun in hiding.

Making up for lost time... One more from this morning at Changi Point. One of the few times I wished I had a CPL! Nice skies lately.

Decided to finally check out Tampines Eco Green after much procrastination. Unfortunately the weather did not clear up much despite the torrential downpour last night. Tried to catch some fleeting morning mist without much success. Tried something completely new (to me at least) for the second picture. Any feedback at all will be much appreciated as always.

Some shots from Marina Bay this morning. Decided to forgo quality for quantity... tried to cover as much ground as I could instead of camping for the light. Kinda regret now...

All these were shot this morning. Were you there too? Got lucky with #58 i guess.. was actually planning to shoot across the bay during "blue hour" but got distracted by the wonderful reflections & hence the timing was less than ideal for #59. But I haven't shot the city from this angle before & got greedy! ;p

thanks for stopping by!
