Thanks everbody!!! New ones coming right up soon from Sembawang Beach!!

pictures Stefan! Just have some questions for you:

1) what are those streaks "blotches" in #8? clouds?,

Yep, those are clouds. :)

2) what exactly does the acrylic sheets do? can't seem to figure it out looking at the photos... were they used in all the pictures?

thanks! cheers!

OK it basically gives a very fine tint to the images of colour - to be honest it works the same as adjusting white balance, but only in-camera settings. The sheets are so-called physical white balance adjustments. They don't do too much to the image but rather a fine 10 - 20% tint to it. :) I'm not a photoshop person who spends more time editing photos than taking them, so I'd rather see immediate results on-site. Because sometimes adjusting colour in photoshop, you can see blotches of noise and grain, thus the resulting need to reduce noise. And detail is compromised.

As far as possible though they're HDRs, I try to be as realistic and as original as the RAW files are. :) I dislike "overedit" results, yet maintain a certain sense of surrealism.

Not bad, just to highlight, the reflections are visibly brighter in these.

Think your WB is overabused on the USR shot - even the part where the paint has peeled off is reflective of the sky? I seriously doubt it. Also prefer a centered composition - deliberately off-centre really doesn't work here for me - if it's for the clouds, they're not worth it. The glory is in the middle. :)

Hey I'm glad you asked!! Thanks, but personally putting stuff in the center don't work for me, both excluding and including. I tried all other angles but don't seem right at all and to my concepts I try emphasize as always. Too many photographers just tend to show the subject only; my photos are all about exaggerating depth and space - it gives information of the surrounding context and as a photographer, I try to connect these elements and a sense of relation (space, time etc) to them. As for the WB no, I didn't do any white balance adjustments, I used a blue acrylic tint filter to achieve this effect. ;) They're 11 image -5 to +5 EV HDRs; there may be slight amounts of imperections due to the post-processing, but I try to be as realistic as possible. Nevertheless I shall consider all suggestions and try them the next time! Thanks for the ideas!!!! You have a great gallery too!!

7 Image HDR/DRI blended manually in Corel PhotoPaint. I gave a higher tone mapping contrast as I think the rocks visually look better this way. Upper Seletar Reservoir, Singapore.

More HDR/DRI vertorama shoots...
SomeFormOFhuman - very impressive shots.. they show your knowhow on the use of UWA and forground/background.. (depth).. concept.. I also find your use of acrylic sheets very innovative.. (hope you dont mind that I will steal your idea and try out some acrylic sheets)... my initial concern that the color deposit might be uneven, bending of lights uneven through the sheets seems to be overly sensitive..

Well Done.. Keep up the Good Work.. and looking forward to more pieces
