= Stefan's Weekly Singapore City/Landscapes II =

Hi Stefan,

Noted your points and thanks! Will try myself and hope one day I can produce a picture like you :)

A little bit. But that can be fixed easily by blending another higher exposure or simply duplicate the layer in photoshop and adjust its brightness prior to using the gradient tool to blend across the frame. :)

there.... another tip.....

thanks!

Deep Purple

3 Image HDR/DRI 2 Image Pano to spatial tightness using GND 0.9 + ND 0.9 for smoothed water effects. Changi Beach, Singapore.

Some of the band's songs popped up in my mind when I saw the environment turned a tone of purple/turquoise hue. I see no smoke on the water however.

It was surprisingly windy when I was there this morning. So I had to use an ND filter to smooth out the ripples on the water. Not sure what caused this unusual strong gust of wind that lasted for nearly 20 minutes but it was probably a Sumatran squall.

Changi Freedom

Single image RAW shot using GND 0.6 hard. Changi Beach, Singapore.

A break away from my usual long exposure shots, as I always notice planes fly by the area each time. Thought it'll be good to get them in frame once a while. Partly also, I've been dying to see sunny days as opposed to the weekly overcast weather that happened the day and weeks before. I cherish this blueness and the clear clarity of the sky, that is always near impossible to attain in Singapore these days.

I should've brought my little nephew along - he loves planes and has a whole collection of them. I would sit beside him and help build his models all the time. I feel this shot would be complete with him as a silhouette in the picture; posed running, as though about to launch a model plane into the air.

Stepping Stone

3 Image HDR/DRI 2 image pano to relief right side spatial tightness + GND 0.9 + ND 0.9 x2 stacked to achieve 6 stops for smoothed water effects. Tanjong Rimau, Sentosa, Singapore.

I've always wanted to go to this unexplored part of Sentosa Island. Many thanks to Fibredrive for bringing me there. :) Will come back again for better light.

The scenery, the rock formations, simply took my breath away. Singapore had so much hidden treasures that not many people will know.

very nice picture, i can know what time you took the picture ? Just want to know the lighting condition.
Thanks

Wheel of Lost Time

3 Image HDR/DRI using GND 0.9 soft + ND 0.9 for smoothed water and cloud effects. Tanjong Rimau, Sentosa, Singapore.

Found a huge ol' tire by the side of the shore. I guess in WWII soldiers landed here in this part of the shore. Will come back again when the light gets better.

Always admire your work.

Sorry Im refering to picture #103
Is there any secret way to reduce halo effect ? I find quite hard when blending 2 different exposure.
Keep up the great work.

Hi there, and thanks for dropping by! :)

Well I blended my images manually, so there wouldn't be any halos around the subjects in the frame. I avoid Photomatix for doing up HDRs so that I can oversee and have total control how my photos will look like at the end of the day. :) It's definitely more tedious for sure, but it gets the job done. :) Another way is using the magnetic masking tool to help mask out objects with uneven surfaces. ;)

And here's something that is REALLY, really long overdue. =)
