this is nice!
as others have mentioned, not a bad thing.
but for the lotus picture - note that you can use "selective" saturation, this will avoid making the background flower look so bruised due to the deep blue happening as a result of overall saturation.
you can do this with layers, make one layer, erase the bottom carefully, especially around the edges, use a soft brush - or you can use the sponge tool in photoshop (if you use photoshop, not sure about other image editing software). cheers!
