Solid!!!! :thumbsup:

Makes me wanna save up and go there!

It's worth every cent going to New Zealand. I think going on a free and easy on a rental camper van will be great for shooting. Tours are a bit rush to capture the best results but it's better for difficult to access places such as Milford Sound.

wau...wat a great nice scenery of new zealand....i like the #3 the most..lol..i try to take the star pic b4 but end up fail...zzzz..actually as personal view..if u try to boost up some colour of the cloud a bit in some pic it will be really great pic !!!!...hehe

Must be a very relaxing trip,#3,#41 & #19 are good.
TFS.:)

Stan, very nice series. :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

We took a rented car and even drove to Milford Sound. Although the road is windy, u can take ur time to stop at all the various senic lookout points along the journey.

Thx stan, more to learn about star trails from u!

Stan, very nice series. :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank Sir for viewing. =p

Stunning pictures!

OT: I hope the SB-400's working well!

Wah, excellent photos, just reminds me of my driving trip there 2 years ago.

It's true that tours are kind of hectic and photo opportunities are pretty limited. Best is to self-drive and stop along those scenic lookouts and take the shots.

The Lake Matheson one would be better if there were no clouds covering Mt Cook and focus more on the lake to catch the reflection.

If you are going to NZ again, can try North Island also. The scenery there is also superb, especially the route from Auckland to Wellington.

:thumbsup:

I just came back from NZ last sunday too! Havent even had time to look through them yet...gonna put up a few photos myself

some really beautiful shots here with very high standards.

the first star trail shot appeals to me a lot; #13, #26, #30, #41 are simply excellent. i also liked #28 a lot, too bad there wasn't more humour present in the scene :bsmilie:

noticed that you don't really prefer dramatic "something in the foreground" shots, i.e. the type i prefer.. thought it would add more variety. i presume gnd was used extensively here? :)

I always wanted to go to New Zealand but I dont have the money.

How much is the whole trip?

wow, such nice pics u have there, u actually gt time to post them up, i haven develop mine yet, lol...

U are right, was a bit dissappointed not to see mt cook's peak. well, there is always a next time!

Depends on how you wana do the trip, budget or not. Its about $3k+ for 12days including air tix, car rentals, food, lodgings, activities etc. Do save up for a trip. its money well spent!

More humor? hmm perhaps some grizzly bear or something? :bsmilie:
thanks for your suggestion, perhaps i just didn't look hard enough for foreground subjects. will take note on my future travels. U are right, GND and CPL used some shots here. thx for viewing.

Here are some panos which I tried to stitch using some manufacturers software. Not quite nicely stitched due to software controls limitation. However, just wanted to share some of the views along the way in its whole entirety, hence do not pay much attention to the haphazard composition. :)

#48
Somewhere halfway up at the Fox glaciers. You can see one of the guide sitting near the ledge of the rocks!

One of the lakes on the way down from Milford Sound. There is this couple, just sitting by the shoreline, reading a book and building rock castles. Serenity.

HI thanks for viewing. To hold a camera steady for 15mins, u will have to use a tripod. My hands are not that steady. hahaha. :D
