Many lovely pictures you have here! From the photos, you seemed to have done quite a lot during your stay there.

wow...very nice pictures you got. breathtaking scenery...now I know why so many people say that New Zealand is very nice and scenic. Now on my must go list when I got $.

Thanks for sharing.

Here are some panos which I tried to stitch using some manufacturers software. Not quite nicely stitched due to software controls limitation. However, just wanted to share some of the views along the way in its whole entirety, hence do not pay much attention to the haphazard composition. :)

Lake Tekapo....i guess i stitched too many photos already. Looks curved and exposure is patchy! haha. my bad...

Hi, lovely pictures. The stitch you have done is far better than you think. When your lens is wide and you capture beyond say, 180 degrees, the curve is normal/ expected. the patchy exposure did not show up that much. I am also learning how to stitch and I find yours almost there already (I am still very bad at it, compared to you).

If you dont mind sharing, how much overlap did you use for your images for stitching? I want to test a hypothesis - more overlap leads to less "patchy" exposure post-stitching. Reason being vignetting happens at the edge of the pictures, which probably caused the patchiness.

WA! vry nice series. Those star trails are lovely~

:o amazing series...

Thanks for viewing. =)

Hi, its actually a stitch of 9 shots @27mm. From my point of view, having more shots to stitch will create the fisheye effect. Moreover, I using a idiot proof stitching software called 'Panoroma Maker' when i got my panasonic p&s long time back. so, not much of a control over how it stitches.

I guess unless u use photoshop or other more powerful image editing software, only then u can control the vignetting or exposure or stitching problems. Just speaking from my point of view. there are other users who might give better suggestions.

i am so envious of your milford sound weather! it was raining heavily when i was there in nov last yr...

crap

hey bro! amazing star trails. care to share how you achieved it?

Yep, i guess we were very very lucky. Thanks for dropping by to view the pics.

Camera was mounted on tripod, frame the picture, focus at infinity, and shot using bulb mode for 15mins.
Exposure is realli trial and error....hehe. it was a lucky shot. U might wana shoot raw to tweak later? I regret shooting mine in Jpeg only..

but you set bulb mode 15mins, wont the scene over expose? even at f/22, wont it over expose?

i went there twice when i was younger. but i didn't have a camera then. how wasted :(

thx for sharing all the great photos :)
#13 reminds me of nemo, haha

It was totally dark, and i used F3.5 i think, I tried 10mins, which was still too dark, and hence i went to 15mins. The building was illuminated by headlights of passing cars, otherwise i dun think even 15mins is enough...

Well, then you should go again fully 'armed' (with cameras)! :bsmilie:
