Is there any change in focusing ring stiffness?
If it does, it can be a problem since the AF motor is a low torque type.
there is not stiffness at all. actually i totally believe everything is ok. just wondering which lens have such sounds.

Pretty certain. My 18-200Vr was kept at around 42% for quite some time, after that it started to squeak, then it jammed. I had to keep half pressing and waiting for at least several hours before it started to work again each time... and it squeaks quite badly. After that, I raised the RH to about 47% and the lens doesn't jam anymore, the squeak reduced but is still there. I guess there was already some damage done.
17-35 squeakssssssssss,,,,and its 700 bucks to fix.:embrass:
"NSC will not re-grease the dry-up AFS motor but changed it totally at a price of ~$700. "
The AFS is with the kit len right? Or is it in the camera?
My 18-135 kit lens also have a "squeaking" sound during focusing.
Will NSC charge to rectify or check as i still have warranty. Its only abt 1month plus old.![]()
My dry cabinet is maintained at RH 49-50% already...Maybe got to increase higher? Near 55%?
