ya...i agree with what PLRBEAR said.

Guys, just some personal tots after working with u guys.

Learn to pose the model and concentrate on her expression and little details like her clothes, straps, hair, accessories....etc

will let u all know more bout how i feel when i get all the photos...

but after seeing geraldine's pic...can see that u all improve alot alot... =D a good start ya!

p/s: who is going to meet me on sun???

already did homework as well as discuss before our photoshoot. in fact i wanted to do a cold look for miko but when we met her on sunday she was so happy and gosh my heart melted...like butter on a hot pan.So what to do? just do happy shots...anyway her clothes didn't match the attitude i wanted to give her.
We are not so ambitious to turn PRO but we just want to enjoy our fellowship together as well as to make whoever we are shooting beautiful and try to capture some of that X factor that we try so hard to capture in our photos. We were so glad to have you guild us along during our photoshoot...we will definately be more daring and observant in our many more photoshoots to come. thanks for yr feedback.

-Rule of thirds doesn't exist in most of your pictures
-Exposure is sub par in almost all of them
-I highly recommend that you refrain from using fill-in flash unless you have tremendous backlight and wish to maintain your background exposure (your flash has emphasized the model's terrible makeup)
-Landscape shots don't work here.
-I assume that you took about 100 shots? If these are the best of the lot, then you've got a long way more to go.
-I suggest you get some help with your photography techniques first.
Other than picture "DSC_0659ps.jpg", what for you need the "rule of thirds"? On DSC_0659ps.jpg, I agreed it look look better if 1/3 rule applies. Else, this is purely a portraiture photos, your main subject is the model, not some landscapes, so why 1/3 rule?

zorro18,
"12678geraldine3.jpg" is too soft for comfort. Sharpen it abit, and focus on the eyes. Generally your photos are ok, except maybe next time, focus on the model's eyes. Most, if not all photos, the models' eyes did not stand out of the photos. (probably you need to PS aibt before printing). Generally, a good attempt. Keep it up and practice more. Cheers.

hi eric69, comments noted.
for the geraldine3.jpg, i was testing out the soft effect as posted in another thread. I didnt know that the pic (borrowed from Digipat) had already been 'softened' so when I ps it, it became lagi soft....

As for 1/3 rule. I think it generally applies to photography except that this was my 1st newbie shoot & being a 'baby', when I saw the model, i forgot everything! My brain vibrated non-stop until all my super-photography knowledge dropped off my ears... :bsmilie: :bsmilie:
