Btw guys, Anyone have experience with a G10. Whats the maximum sync speed it can achieve. 1/1000th with PWs w/ external flash?

similiarly the LX3. its maximum speed with triggers.

i had tried successfully 1/2000 with lx3 and phottix trigger indoor

g10 is 1/250

hmm isn't that on cam external? i know internal syncs at 1/500th while external 1/250th but im reading things that it can sync higher with triggers. So wondering if anyone has tried it here.

chalib: Thanks.

nope. why shld it be any different unless u referring to HSS?

the electrical shutter? Not sure, havent really used HSS before.

the manual reads 1/250 as the sync speed. where did u see 1/500? u probably can sync higher but at your own risk i guess. the shoot we did last weekend, melvin managed to sync higher than the specs.

need some help from you guys - i know for my sb800, it comes with 3 colour correction gels.. tho i have yet to use them. after watching all the stuff from joe mcnally, i wonder if i can just cut up some celophane paper and get roughly the same results for my 1-pin slave flash?

TIA! :)

no. color temp is diff. unless u wanna do some special effect then can use. or u can cut up those colored folders. color folder will be closer than cellophane.

there is a high possibility if you use cellophane sheets near or touching the flash head. take extra precaution on that.

i have had tissue paper emitting a burnt smell after a few rapid fire of the flash. :bsmilie:

specialized gels made for stage lighting are designed to withstand the heat from these hot lamps. you may want to consider these.
