For me, if its for a quick and dirty job, I would travel with the lightest so its easy going by public transport. E.g. One shoot through brolly, 580EX, light manfrotto stand and sync cord. Two lenses, namely and wide zoom and tele zoom. Its normally done indoors and 15 mins is all I have so one location many different poses.

For bigger jobs, I will carry heavier lights and softbox so its the taxi for me. I normally bring all the stuff. ;p

i convert my monopod + mini tripod to light stand with umbrella attachment, useful for indoor not for outdoor as the wind blow and the stand can fell down :):)

I am using TTL cord , 1 brolly and 1 lightstand.
