Curious if anyone with both systems can compare the 600EX-RT/ST-E3 combo vs Pocketwizard TT1s/TT5s, AC3 + whatever flashes. Particularly interested in range, reliability, and impairment when near water. My Flex/Minis have gotten incrementally better after each firmware release but not quite yet 100% foolproof - still a bit temperamental with anything less than freshly charged batteries. And if I wanted to use a TT1 because all the TT5s are used as receivers, CR2450s are neither cheap nor readily available. Aside from simplicity of use and "single vendor responsibility", what does the 600EX-RT / ST-E3 do better than PW - if any? Thanks in advance.

Hi Avsquare, like to check with you, is the pixel king work well with 5D3 on 580exii on high syn ? Cos I just got my 5D3 and it seen like the old pixel knight doesn't work on 5D3. Tks

Pixel Knight no HSS.
IIRC Pixel King is the best out of Pixel series. HSS up to 1/8000s, supports ETTL and it is a radio system. What it doesn't support is, Multi mode (Stroboscopic mode).

will get the pixel king for my 5d3. Pixel knight do have HSS up to 1/8000s on my 5d2, it work well for the last two year on 5d2 but when I use it on 5d3 it go crazy .... Lol

I used the 600EX-RT for 2 weeks in France
1. I found the 2 gels very useful. Even just 2, I was able to make the face of my wife less whitish as compared to the ambience light inside cafe, church and castle. The AWB work when I fitted the gel properly.
2. Used with Rogue FlashBender almost all the time. I tilted the 600EX to flash to the left side and use the Rogue to bend the flash 45 deg back to the face.
Now I wonder what would be the effect if I add the diffuser into the setup.

Bros who have the 600EX-RT, I'm ordering the Sto-Fen OM-ET Omni-Bounce from BH. Anyone interested in tagging along please PM me within the next couple of days. Will cost ~ $19 to $23 depending on interest level.

For bros who are interested in ST-E3, just leaking a bit of news: Canon SG have told me that the next batch should be coming in a few weeks time, exact schedule not confirmed but personally I am guessing 2 weeks.
I am not sure if all the main dealers will get a fair share, because I know Canon SG favors certain dealers and they have confirmed with me which is the 1st dealer to receive the next batch of stocks :bsmilie:
I think it's quite a clear hint that it should be landing relatively soon! :bsmilie:
