Sony Zeiss FE24-70/F

Got mine in Funan Alan photo, 149X, the lens just arrived and still many available.

Where is the lens made in, Japan or Thailand?

SONY at nex got a unit for testing on 7r

Yep, it's Thailand..but the build quality is still superb..
However, if you're pampered by the 35mm and 55mm, you're not going to like this lens..it's no where near as sharp as those lens...its also personally not as good as the Canon 24-70 F2.8II..i would've gladly bought an f2.8 version if they made one but they don't so this will have to do..
it's not a bad lens..just wished it was better

Zeiss color should still be there...

Could it be MIT so lower quality? Or could there be samples variation?

Wow and most shop selling at the rrp of $1599 right?

It is brand new and I suppose most shop try to sell to max Profit... It is business...

yeap.... i will wait for prices to fall to more reasonable levels in shops/B&S before deciding on this lens as a general vacation zoom lens. Same thing i am waiting for the 35 2.8 to fall in price keke.

Ya... I usually will hoot after the pricing moved from "Innovators" & "Early Adopter" to "Early Majority" before I hoot... Usual cycle is around 3-5 months....

Some lens prices take much longer to drop....

Now, EOS M is like sub $500... so it is a pretty good deal..... so this is almost like dumping price, so they can clear stocks.... Wonder if they are selling at a loss...

if you will just use legacy MF lenses I guess the EOS M is a good deal...

Actually, I am on Canon DSLR, so this is interesting for me... at this price point... plus I can use RT to trigger the EOS M to shoot too... so I am thinking... AF slow is ok... as long as image is good... and it is very compact too...

Wait for the price drop then buy hahaha

I heard from my friends the AF is darn slow even with the Canon Adaptor, although I have not tried as I don't have any Canon AF glass :-)

I have not tested it myself yet... Dunno how bad is the shuttle lag too.... But I think I might just try it out and thing about it... B&H and Amazon have many happy users... but they buy at the sales pricing...

Haha, yep..i am one of those who bought from BH at usd299....I still have the Viltrox adapter for EF lenses but i no longer have EF lenses..i used to use EF lenses on it all the time..it's not much slower than without the adapter because natively, it was already so slow so little bit slower can't really tell..slow is just slow..still thinking of selling my EOS M since i never use it anymore now that i have the A7r and NEX6

Yes especially with Sony only releasing limited quantity of these it gives the vendors opportunities to profit...guessed I'll just have to vote with my wallet then. CONSUMER POWER!!! ;p
