Sony Zeiss FE24-70/F

In this day and age and for a lens that carries the Zeiss badge, yes its bad.

Would appreciate some sample images at the widest end (24mm) compared to other lenses of similar focal length to illustrate the extent of how poor the corner performance is. Corner performances may be subjective. The zoom lens is no otus.

I'm not interested in the lens anymore(or Sony for the matter). Perhaps someone else can post a few photos.

Yes, I'm pretty much done with Sony.

This lens has its strength but its ability to resolve the corners is shocking...... in a bad way.

In this case, looks gd for use on future apsc e-mount.

How's this compare to the kit lens?

Apsc users will be better off with the apsc zeiss zoom lenses

There isn't any point comparing the 2 lenses really. They belong to different segments.

Does d kit lens resolve d corners better than d zeiss zoom? Distortion across zoom range? Probably something we can relate as comparison.

I've only used the kit lens once. All I remembered was the barrel distortions were off the chart.

Back to Nikon and probably medium format.

wa so fast... no wonder your write up on the a7r disappeared from your webpage so quickly.

lack of uwa lenses currently and less than perfect kit and zeiss zooms aside. the A7r body does has it's upsides hehe... but probably doesnt make sense if you are already using a d800e

New Pentax 645

No Pentax. Not going for something I'm not familiar with again. Probably going with the Alpa open platform system with Phase One back.

Yeah, Sony doesn't suit my needs.

Ok ok. Enjoy.

Not to dampen the spirit of others who have bought the lens, Kit is a pro who has certain requirementsnfor his lenses. The Zeiss zoom should still be good for serious enthusiasts.
