Sony US announces NEX-5n fix service to remove the “Click” issue

Got my nex 5n yesterday , and sent it to sony today for the click. The demo unit at Wisma has the same kind of clicking noise as mine.

Where did you buy it?

Any more folks brought their nex5N to service center to fix the clicking sound?

I just bought mine and can hear the clicking sound too. Any idea how long does it take to leave the camera with them?

IMM collection centre told me max 14days....just sent it in today.

Quite disappointed from the way they pack the cam, just a Sony plastic bag with scotch tape:confused:

They know. Afterall the service notice is already on Sony Singapore website.
No need to explain, just sign a form and they will sms when ready.

So how did they fix it? Did they just lubricate a part like Sony is doing it in the US?

If they just lubricate the parts then the problem may be temporary solve and once it dry up, the problem may resurface.

Yes Just got a call, its lubricate as everywhere else in the world...something to do with the shutter mechanism and not the orientation sensor. And mine is a day old. In the end despite the issues, you still have to give credit to the image quality using stock lens, quite a change compared to the nex 5 I once had with stock lens.

I sent in mine at Wisma and got it back within 2 working days. I inspect very carefully, no scratches on set. Good as new.

My service receipt says change of "mechanical parts".

That's odd. :-B

I'm gonna fire the burst mode... to see if the lube gets on the sensor when i inspect it
