Sony US announces NEX-5n fix service to remove the “Click” issue

how serious r u all's click sound?
i just tried my camera in my quiet room... i pan veryfast then will produce a soft tiny click... i think if u shoot a party video, may not hurt the click.
if pan slowly, the click wont be heard.

How to know the one I am buying is already fixed or old stock with clicking issue?

It's very soft. Like u, I have to be in a totally quiet room, shake hard and put my ear very near de camera in order to hear it.

Has anyone send his for fixing yet? How long does it take and is it much better? Thanks.

I am waiting for some information on the local turn around time for servicing the 5n too....that way I can plan my schedule better.

I was looking into Sony's Overseas models catalog and it claims the 5n and the 7 have a different Anti-Dust system than the C3. The 5n and 7 have a ultrasonic vibration mechanism whereas the C3 has a electric-magnetic vibration system: http://www.sony.jp/products/catalog/OVERSEAS_sou.pdf

Hi, Another possibility is if you try it with a prime lens, camera's mic won't pick any sound from the prime lens. This is
not the case with a long zoom lens which gives some certain noise when you give it a shake or jerk like panning with camera with a quick sudden movement.

Well, isn't that just the IS of the lens? :-B

Its already confirmed by many users that the clicking sound can be heard even when there is no lens and camera off.

So its definitely sound coming from the shutter mechanism.

have u all truy to shake the camera even when its off??? i shake also got sound.
