wa.. they just need 1 day?sent my in for the fix. available one day later. will collect and see if it works...
wa.. they just need 1 day?
so it seems! the staff told me it would take up to 4-5 working days, but so far they've been able to return 1-2 working days.
What are the items you need to send in? The body only or with the kit lenses that came with the set?
Since Sony did not provide 2 sets of lense rear cover, one of the lens will be exposed...
Please update if this "fix" solves the issue!
Which branch you sent it to? The main service centre at Wisma?i sent in body with the pancake, since as you say there is only 1 rear lens cap.
battery, memory card, and flash will be removed (if you'd screwed it on).

Does that happen only with the kit lens or with any lens? The first is when you move the camera vigorously (fast panning, etc). That seems to be related to the orientation sensor. However, in quite conditions my 5N has audible (and annoying clicks) when it achieves a new focus during video. Try doing a video in an absolutely silent room, keeping your camera still, but forcing a new focus by moving an object in and out of view... and you should hear this second type of clicking (which has nothing to do with camera movement). Of course, you need to playback the video in a reasonably quiet environment also. The user manual actually warns of this noise due to the internal workings of the camera. I don't know if the source of this clicking is actually in the lens or the body, but I hope their fix addresses it (as I avoid fast movements in video).
Have only tried it with the kit zoom. Only have that and the pancake and no adapter yet for my other lenses.Does that happen only with the kit lens or with any lens?
Maybe this is it. I'm not sure. But it seems to coincide with when the camera has achieved focus. I was holding the camera in my hand, so the truer test would be with a tripod and perhaps OSS turned off. As I said, though, this happened in a very quiet environment. I took lots of video yesterday at a school, and there was no clicking to be heard (probably because of the ambient sound).OSS does have very low click sound when activated / deactivated.. any on lens image stabilizer has some sound when activated / deactivated.. this is norm.. it is also a way tell if its working or not![]()
You cannot turn it off in the menu? :-oim not sure if there is a way to turn off the OSS from kit.. the pancake does not have OSS from my understanding so maybe test that
not on top of my head.. i can only reconfirm after i got home..You cannot turn it off in the menu? :-o

Coz the 16mm has no IS.Can lah ! ...but with the 16mm lens mounted, the option is gray out.
