I own the RX1. My comments are through my own experience of using the camera and all the available accessories. If the camera came with everything I needed fine but it does not, not even a battery charger. Therefore it is not just about the camera anymore.
Furthermore, these are not third party accessories, these are made by Sony specially for the RX1.

Wow, defensive.... You own one of the RX1, Cool!
But, but, dont the RX1 is mean to be a compact Full Frame camera? Then why need to add on so many things like grip, full case? ( if need better grip on the cam, might as well go for DSLR)
I charge my NEX6 with USB. (there is one thing in the market that you can bring it along to charge) sry! i dont know what it call,ha ha ha
It's a compact camera but it's not as light as one (482g!) so a grip still makes sense.
wait for 3rd party case / add-on~ .
No camera is perfect, the purpose of this forum is the exchange information, the pros and cons.
I posted that the RX1 is a good camera but I also followed up with a list of what i did not like. There are shortcomings. The RX1 has tons of accessories that add to the user experience, EVF, OVF, hood, thumb grip, case etc. How it interacts with these accessories and what is included in the box is important to some. If you don't find it useful, move along.
Unlike others, I don't post about what I don't own. Find me a review that covers more than the amazing IQ of the RX1 and includes how all the accessories work with the RX1.
I still haven't seen a review of the OVF and the EVF. Anyone?

A few comments about the RX1. Not so much the camera itself but the accessories.
1. No battery charger is included in the box. Instead you get a USB charger that plugs into the RX1 to charge the battery.
2. EVF uses a different connector from the current Sony Nex 5N/R from what I can tell. Why not make it the same?
3. Thumb grip not well thought out. It blocks the Play button. The thumb grip swivels out to provide access but that's just bad implementation.
4. Using the thumb grip will prevent the use of the EVF.
5. The full case does not accommodate the hood, thumb grip, EVF, OVF etc
6. Camera strap included in the box is really poor quality.
7. Unlike the RX100 full case, the RX1 full case does not come with a strap.
8. EVF rubber eye cup is not fitted well. It does not sit well on the eye piece.
The camera itself is well made and feels good and solid BUT the packaging and accessories feel cheap (except for the OVF) and is poorly thought out.
