Wow, defensive... Who made you the forum police? Can't even post objective comments anymore?

I own the RX1. My comments are through my own experience of using the camera and all the available accessories. If the camera came with everything I needed fine but it does not, not even a battery charger. Therefore it is not just about the camera anymore.

Furthermore, these are not third party accessories, these are made by Sony specially for the RX1.

Wow, defensive.... You own one of the RX1, Cool!

But, but, dont the RX1 is mean to be a compact Full Frame camera? Then why need to add on so many things like grip, full case? ( if need better grip on the cam, might as well go for DSLR)

I charge my NEX6 with USB. (there is one thing in the market that you can bring it along to charge) sry! i dont know what it call, :) ha ha ha

It's a compact camera but it's not as light as one (482g!) so a grip still makes sense.

Forum is for sharing..the good and bad.
but bashing is nono. So.. well.
Nowadays...Internet is serious business and we have all kind of people. (im sure many have alot to say n is lurking around ! Yes you! :bsmilie:)

Chill out. Different stroke for different people i guess.

If i have the RX1. ill just get the lens hood. :bsmilie:

You buy the camera just to complain. Which makes you look like a total idiot for not knowing what you'll get for the price. If there are so many "flaws" as mentioned, then why did you get it in the first place.

BTW, i'm not acting like i own the forum. I'm just irked by camera owners who buy the camera (of any brand) then start complaining wholesale about all perceived faults.

Like i mentioned, pictures matter more. Why buy a camera just to complain?

No camera is perfect, the purpose of this forum is to exchange information, the pros and cons.

I posted that the RX1 is a good camera but I also followed up with a list of what i did not like. There are shortcomings. The RX1 has tons of accessories that add to the user experience, EVF, OVF, hood, thumb grip, case etc. How it interacts with these accessories and what is included in the box is important to some. If you don't find it useful, move along.

Unlike others, I don't post about what I don't own. You don't know everything about something you just bought. it is through use that you learn more. Find me a review that covers more than the amazing IQ of the RX1 and includes how all the accessories work with the RX1.

But unfortunately with a forum nazi like you, the chances of a good objective discussion about a product is just not possible.

I still haven't seen a review of the OVF and the EVF. Anyone?

The thumb grip is tiny. It gives you a better position to rest your thumb to give the RX1 better stability. It is about 4cm long and attaches to the hotshoe. It is not like a vert grip.

Afaik the ovf is the same as a77, a99, etc

Well, it's still worth reviewing an actual physical unit even though the marketing specs are the same.

I still haven't seen a review of the OVF and the EVF. Anyone?

OVF looks like a standard 35mm viewfinder from Zeiss. Extremely bright and extremely well made. It just gives you frame lines for framing purposes and does not have any connection to the camera other than being mounted on the hotshoe.

The EVF looks like the 5N EVF except it is black. I don't have my 5N EVF here to compare but I was told that its a different connector. It's very nice functionally, seems about the same as my A99, best EVF I have used.

Is there any review on IQ especially on Noise control and Dynamic range?

Thanks

Yap i watched it already
but i need more thorough review and side by side comparison with other cams

Indeed :)

Then wait. Or look on SAR where they always post these things

A few comments about the RX1. Not so much the camera itself but the accessories.

1. No battery charger is included in the box. Instead you get a USB charger that plugs into the RX1 to charge the battery.

2. EVF uses a different connector from the current Sony Nex 5N/R from what I can tell. Why not make it the same?

3. Thumb grip not well thought out. It blocks the Play button. The thumb grip swivels out to provide access but that's just bad implementation.

4. Using the thumb grip will prevent the use of the EVF.

5. The full case does not accommodate the hood, thumb grip, EVF, OVF etc

6. Camera strap included in the box is really poor quality.

7. Unlike the RX100 full case, the RX1 full case does not come with a strap.

8. EVF rubber eye cup is not fitted well. It does not sit well on the eye piece.

The camera itself is well made and feels good and solid BUT the packaging and accessories feel cheap (except for the OVF) and is poorly thought out.

Appreciate your honest inputs, thanks.

Dun think any review will list out all these 'shortcomings'. But although not perfect, i still think RX1 is a good camera nonetheless.
