Why would the body cap only come with the 18-200mm lens and not with the single or dual lens kit? Is it because the 18-200mm is so big that Sony don't expect users to keep the lens mounted on the camera body. This also don't make sense as users could always mount the 16mm or 18-50mm and keep the 18-200mm separately ie Sony expect the users to use the 16mm and 18-50mm as body cap if they don't buy the 18-200mm.

This is the absolute extreme measure in cost cutting by a camera manufacturer... to save on supplying a body cap as a standard accessory.

Look at it at another perspective.... Saving Gaia

one lesser plastic being made ... goes a long way to preserve EARTH's nature resources!;p

Can anyone share/recommend the retail shops selling Nex 5 $100 cheaper? Does it still come with the $300 lens voucher and the 3 mths extra warranty?

Do they have silver? PC show also no freebies so no advantage buy from there.

even with uob 3% rebate it works out to 1160+.

i think both NEX 5 and 3 is available. got mine nex5 last nite. Wee...

but alot of accessory is not available, like the leather Case in the Preview Event, screen protector, carrying tcase, all not available yet.
dual lens package also not available.

but got 300 voucher for the 16mm or 18-55mm lens
cannot use to buy e 200mm len.

Just tested the black nex5 at Sony shop. They only giving 300 voucher for use to purchase lens.

Some quick observations:
- AF speedy tho GF1 v slightly faster. Passes my expectations
- in A mode dial adjusts aperture which is good. So operation wise is speedy enough for me
- screen icons a bit busy. In my rush to take pics didn't notice that was on iso6400!
- iso6400 is pretty usable when viewed at 1280x800 and below
- lack of dedicated AE lock is this cameras biggest frustration but for seasoned users you should be able to work ard this but will slow down your snapshooting
- LCD is good
- power on/off switch didn't feel as good as rest of the body. Body felt high quality
- soft menu limited but still fine to use. Should be good for begineers.
- flash construction is well made. Good fill in.

Overall I do like the cam enough to buy it (when they can confirm the offers not sure what r the offers now so confusing). I still find the GF1 to be the mirrorless cam with the best shooters ergonomics however.

i noticed the camera tends to always forcus itself from time to time, which is a good way to improve af speed since it will be faster to lock focus when needed.

I quite like the shutter sound, reminds me of my FE heh. But yeah when u use the sweep pano the sound quite drama heh. Hey ouerture show us some sample shots? The ones I took in the Sony store v boring :/

Did you buy 32GB? Coz only 32GB has class 10? 16GB and below only class 6?

From what I saw today at Alan Photo @ SLS, 32GB ONLY class 10. 16GB and 8GB have both class 6 and class 10.

16GB selling class 10 for $150, class 6 for $100 . Bought myself a class 10 to match my NEX5 18-55 which I bought yesterday afternoon from Sony IMM.

I think AF is set to monitor; if you set to single, it'll only focus when shutter release is press half way.
