Does the body actually recognize the Tamron 18-200mm and Sony 18-200mm LE as the same lens?My 2cents worth of initial review of the NEX-6 vs the 5N that I owned previously:
Pros:
1. Focusing definitely faster. Tried with all my E-Mount lens and can really feel a difference.
2. The hand grip suits my big hand better. The 5N always feel like it is going to drop from my fingers as I dun use any wrist strap.
3. Exposure is more accurate than the 5N at almost any situations.
4. The new 16-50mm kit lens is way sharper than the SEL1855 and the zoom ring is buttery smooth. Good for video shooting.
Cons:
1. Battery life is short. Much shorter than the 5N as far as I can remember. Good thing they give free spare battery and I bought the 3pc with the PWP.
2. No touchscreen.
Overall a very good buy and a good replacement for the 5N IMO. I would have stick to my trusty 5N if not for the Sony Promotion which absorbs the 7% GST plus SLR is selling at way below RRP. No regrets so far. Hopefully battery life can be longer after the batteries are conditioned.
Now just waiting for Sony to launch the firmware updates for my SEL50F18, SEL30M35 and the Tamron 18-200 aka Sony SEL18200LE to make full use of the PDAF as well as the new bounce flash for the NEX-6.

Just to add. My sigma 30/2.8 also seem to focus much faster despite no pdaf support. (I upgraded from a 5)

The weird thing is few days ago i visit sony wisma, they said the free bag is some cheap small silver bag, not the herringbone bag. Now need to apply sp for the LCD. Any idea which shop has sp for NEX 6?
Our NEX-6 is completely sold out; thank you to all Clubsnap brothers who came down, we hope you had a good experience at our store!![]()
Just got one of the last set of NEX-6 and 10-18mm from Click!.. Great service from Wan Leng, very patient in hearing me out and taking time to explain to me the package details for the NEX-6. She also went the extra mile to call up the Sony dealer to find out about exact stocks arrival date for the Sony 10-18mm lens (even my regular shops don't do that for me) Definitely one of the better camera shops in Funan and hope to visit you guys again!
