Surprised PDAF seems to have a noticeable impact on battery life:Hands on: Sony NEX-6 review - Pocket-lint
I think this is one of the first review around in the net. From the article, i gathered that the AF speed is not impressive. Not impressive at all.
Surprised PDAF seems to have a noticeable impact on battery life:
"It's hard, therefore, to judge whether the addition of phase detection - which will further eat away at battery life - makes a significant enough contribution to the model. The autofocus isn't as quick as competitors such as the Panasonic G5 or Olympus OM-D for example."
Sounds as if the AF speed is the same as before...
"It's better designed and more affordable than the NEX-7 and from our hands-on experience we reckon this is the very best NEX yet."
Anyway, pretty cool camera.
Nah, if I wait for another one next year, I end up waiting forever. NEX-6 is already cool enough with reasonable price tag. I'll buy more battery if PDAF eats battery life.
I'm with you. Looking forward to it's release in Singapore in Nov.
Already owned a NEX, so just waiting for it to go Full Frame... or, Weather Shield!

I am pretty sure the NEX-6's IQ isn't worse than the 5N and the latter one had a good one. I wouldn't worry about the IQ. The AF is a different issue, it's still in the same league than the Samsung NX but it's at least better than the EOS M.Sony NEX-6 Photos | PhotographyBLOG
Do you like the IQ of Nex-6?
To me,
AF - dun perform fast
IQ - dun look so good
Btw, i am not bashing Nex-6. Now have to wait for finished product.

EDIT: I just checked out his ISO 3200 and 6400 shots. At 3200 the noise reduction or whatever it is looks already pretty patchy. The white wall looks bad even downscaled. Anyway, probably shot in jpeg. Must be when you look at the ISO 800 samples...
If you are using Google Chrome, download a exif viewer extension, and you should be able to see the f-stops.
I use this one. Just right click on photo after installation.

Shouldn't test shots be made using a tripod? The photos look hand-held.
