To be fair . ISo useability is a matter of preference. On nex7 , 3200 in raw remains useable to me on 6r prints and web sizes after pp . From experience, the trick about Sony sensor iso performance is that over exposing by 1/3 ev and bring down the highlights subsequently will yield better noise performance .

Same thing with the modern day obsession with tact sharpness of lens , which sadly measured by 100 percent crops measurements at wide apertures.

Such technical quantification may mean a lot to peeps searching for the dream gear . To the peeps who wants to take picture , it may mean nothing at all .

A high iso camera with a piece of sharp glass is an awesome pair of equipment. It will stay just as that if the other aspects of photography and its practicalities are ignored or sidelined.

Agree on that. It's either camera gear whoring or being a photo enthusiast.

Cant agree more... That said, one must be comfortable wif what he uses, everyone has their own preference be it whether he or she is working on collecting gears or focusing on shooting better photos. End of d day, it's what one's happy with. Cheers.

For me i wont take X-E1 :X i still <3 the ergonomic handling of NEX body~;) despite de IQ maybe... in many way that is not as good as X-E1 :dunno:

I have read practically every review and seen most enthusiast photos on the web (full size) and I am not very convinced that the Xe-1 IQ is any better than even my 5N. I have been using my 5N for about 9 months, and believe you me, I am still trying to get the best out of it, and it's all about my skills and not the ability of the 5N. Lenses do play an important role, but key is how a particular scene is lighted and how you meter and capture the scene by making full use of available light with or without any compensation.

so long dont become like this fella can already

actually.. is there a huge diff on the ISO/color/noise/watever when we resize to like 1024 x 683 or 1600 x 1067 compare to other camera? eg Xpro1/XE1, omd etc

I've too much invested on the nex system to change at this point though . Nex is one of the most complete systems around. Small and compact when traveling or going out with the family. Converts easily to a slt when performance is needed for events and sports. My main issue is the lack of in body stabilisation as most lenses made for Sony a mount don't come with optical stabilisation .

Optical Steadyshot with Active Mode on the Sony SEL18200 Lens allows for a stabilization system to make blur-free stills. Guess this is what you need. =)

if you're an NEX-7 user... it makes no sense to buy the NEX-6

I would prefer Nex-6 for the faster hybrid autofocusing and better sensor for cleaner high iso images

get SEL10-18mm OSS, and SEL18-200mm. All the way from 15-300mm wih IS.

Is there a review that shows NEX 6 makes a cleaner high iso image??? Pleas share...

I do have the 18-200. Its great for travelling and holidays with the family. I only use it for that now. Not really into manual focus. Was spoiled silly with my time with the nikon d70 and the kit 18-70 swm lens. 18--200 has great iq, but af is slow. Especially towards the tele end. Can take 1/2 to 1 second to focus and its even worse when it hunts. 2 pics with nex5 and sel 18-200

Took this pic of my daughter when on holiday

Bro, your expectation really high leh 1/2 sec to focus also consider slow? Lucky I'm easily contented, to me it's focusing is faster than SAL18250.
