Sure but why do you mix up the NEX-5 and 6 with the 7? I said the 5 and 6 might get the new 20MP sensor.

Tried moving the lens around to replicate the problem, but issues yet. Keeping my fingers crossed though.

Btw, they replaced a cz 24mm for me.

Barely a few days since I got my camera back, even before I bring it out for a test shoot, the problem of the missing F number reappeared. I'm gonna go down to Sony again later to send it in, again. Wish me (and my camera) luck.

They did. They exchanged a new lens for me even though I did specifically tell the technician that the problem happened for 2 different lenses I tested, so it's actually the camera body which has an issue. Now I'll get a new body and a new lens, so thank you so much Sony.

Just my own assumption. That's what they did for my lens, so maybe they'll do that for the body as well. But at the end of the day, I wish that they are able to solve the problem. I'd rather have a working used camera than a new 1 that I need to constantly send in.

A new body is probably cheaper than a repair + new parts but they would send out the wrong message to their customers.

Does the same thing still happen with the new replacement lens?

Hmm, for my case, it happens to both my SEL18200LE and SELP1650 - doubt they will change both lenses.

Anyone else having this problem?

I've just send my Nex6/SEL50mm in to Sony Care as well, with regards to this matter.

tested this morning, it happens to my Sigma30mm also, so guess it might really be issue with the body.

hope they can solve the issue.

I'm thinking of buying a NEX6 to replace my A900. What's the best price in town now? I was quoted $1258 at Click in Funan. If you got it cheaper, can PM me? This comes with a case and 16GB SD card and 16-50 power zoom lens.

I'm also looking for the Minolta flash adaptor that comes with the NEX7. Anyone managed to buy this part? Or can it be ordered from the Sony service centre at Wisma Atria?

The rumour is only categorised as SR3 (not yet an SR5).
In addition:
- announcement and first availability can be months different (i.e., products are generally announced way before they are released)
- first availability and local availability can also be months different (i.e., which countries gets it first as Singapore may not be first few countries)
- local availability and shop availability is also a different matter (i.e., limited quantities, prices not good/cheap enough, etc).

About $20 cheaper than what was quoted to me by a certain shop when it first launched... so pretty much standard... but if the standard from recommended shops are good, then it's good

Standard from shops usually include a (sony/herringbone) bag and the sony 16gb UHS SD card. No point going thru so much trouble for a saving of a few tens of dollars.

Just got contacted by Sony.

Camera waiting for parts to arrive. Tentative date for collection is 15March.

seems like they are replacing parts for the Camera body, I've check with them.

I'm fine with it as long as the issue got resolve with the parts changed.
